There is definitely something... off. I have noticed it as well though I have not done much to try to alleviate it.

I was in the camp that we did not "need" a visual update to the game to begin with, but there seems to be very strong opinions about it. If there was a way to return to the "old", I would surely utilize it.

Commenting to add, if anyone else noticed that the glow effect around the small aetherytes is not tracked correctly while running/walking? I play on PS5 but, I have noticed that if I'm running around the cities and pass a small aetheryte, the glow effect looks displaced? The glow moves around when I move my character, whereas before it used to be static.

Still annoyed im forced to pick between FSR blur at 100% or intense sharpening at 99%. Why was this forced?

It's because how FSR 1.0 works. FSR has an autosharpening mechanism. But if you set FSR to 100% then you disable it. And if you disable FSR then the autosharpening also not active anymore.

OK, i have a solution for players, who have motion sickness/blurry image in motion and a RTX 20/30/40/50 card.

    1. Install the newest Nvidia drivers.
    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

Make sure, that you also install the Nvidia App. If you have older drivers then it is a good idea to choose "Custom Installation" and then check the "Clean Installation" checkbox. And then reboot your computer.

    2. Start the Nvidia App. At the first startup there will be a question for autooptimizing the games, which is enabled by default. Please disable it. The autooptimization is not very good. I had cases where some games ran very slow because the autooptimization meant, that a 15 fps framelimiter is a good idea. -.-

    3. When the main window of the App is open, click on the left side on "Graphics". Then on the left side, there will be a list with games. If FF14 is missing, click on the three dots and then select "Refresh". Then click on Final Fantasy IV Online. On the right side scroll down. There is a setting named "DLSS Override - Model Presets". Click on it. Then choose "Use different settings for each DLSS technology" and then choose unter "Super Resolution" the option "Preset K". And then click on "Apply".

    4. Start Final Fantasy 14 and make sure, that you have DLSS enabled in the System Option.

    Cheers

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the newest Nvidia drivers as of now tbh. Even tho the newest update addressed stability and black screen issues I highly doubt that Nvidia managed to fix all of that yet. Plus there also seem to be performance issues with some titles.
Also given that DLSS makes things even more blurry I am not sure as to how it will be a solution for an already blurry image not to mention the ghosting DLSS introduces. :c

You can also enforce DLAA under the option "DLSS Override - Super Resolution".

And i have no problems with the new drivers.

I don't recommand since Nvidia Drivers aren't really stable since 57X.XX.
Maybe people encounter issue such as black screens or instabilites ect.
This issue is fairly random and can touch even non RTX5000 hardware.
I had the issue with driver 576 , while i never had it with 572.xx with an RTX3080.

    Sadly it's not...

I am in a position where i shouldn't update driver since it's a blackscreen lottery.
Or upgrade to a 9070XT that is for no apparent reason underperforming on FF XIV.
    This is actually kinda funny.
