Casual content go ahead doesnt matter, savage raids i would kick you faster then you can look if your ego deceides because someone was "mean" to you to give it someone which would be the worse choice for it after all you are wasting potential group dps only because of your ego
I want to be able to cancel Dance Partner.

Meanwhile, I get it as monk and immediately want it off me.
Peer pressure to keep using my job optimally when i just want to braindead.
The only weird interaction I had was like a long time ago, while I was progging p8s, and some dude kept pestering me to DP the tank. I said no, they insisted, and I muted them. End of story..lol. That mute/block button is so nice.
I have and will continue to not care if a dancer gives me their buff, but it does feel harsh when they switch mid-fight.
I mean, I do that all the time. I start with sam/pct for burst and initial dmg, then switch to vpr for the add phase, for example, if they are in the party.
I usually give DP to the melee DPS and then casters if they aren't any melee when I'm doing roulettes. If I'm doing a trial or raid and such with friends, I will DP with my friends since I know their playstyle and overall DPS output depending on their class.

The way the Closed Position and Dancer Partner has worked has never changed since it released. The Dance Partner buff does not stack with other instances of the Dance Partner buff. When you use Closed Position on a target, it grants that target the Dance Partner buff. Meaning, two different Dancers using Closed Position on the same target grants the same buff, meaning they do not stack.
When you use Closed Position on a target, it grants the buff Closed Position to yourself, which is a completely different buff. It's because of this that two Dancers can used Closed Position on each other, because they both end up with 1 instance of Closed Position buff and 1 instance of Dance Partner buff. They're different buffs. That's why they stack.
And since Dancer's release, people have been absolutely terrible at understanding this despite the job quest straight up telling you exactly this.
EDIT: To remain on topic with the thread, I generally give Dance Partner to whoever's doing the most damage or whoever I can trust won't get themselves killed and waste my buff. Though, absolutely, if someone demands it, or is rude, they just don't get it. Doesn't matter if the content is casual or not.
More often than not, though, I have to remind other Dancers to use the Closed Position ability at all. I don't care what the content itself is, or how hard or easy someone thinks it is, I'd appreciate people at least playing the job they selected at least somewhat properly.
