    So.... About Prishe's Hairstyle(s) and Outfit(s)

I kinda want both her hairstyles. I really want her boss fight version, though obviously modified to a shorter length for playable characters and I just want her usual hairstyle because I'm a big fan of Prishe ever since playing Dissida Final Fantasy and would make another character or retainer with her look.

It'd also would be cool to get both her regular and boss outfits as glamour, too! I really want to get my hands on her gloves because I like how outrageous and poofy they are with the large spiked knuckles at the ends. xD

Yes please, I would love to be able to wear her cute hair pin and her hair :3

They should also either allow Elezen to be as short as her or create a smaller race of elfs kinda like how Miqo'te and Hrothgar are feline based but unique in their own ways.

That would be awesome!!! We do need another short race to complement the Lalafell , so there's always a potential possibility.

I hope y'all get what you want, but for the influx of players who came in on the COVID wave, it's telling that the positives we're hearing about constantly reference "Prishe" and "Beatrix." Characters we have never heard of and who we have zero interest in.

    Meanwhile, the player count drops.

Nostalgia can be a powerful driver of engagement, but for players who possess none, the net result is simply a less coherent, less interesting story.

Edit: Here's an analogy. Suppose you gave a writing room the plot outline for Cinderella. Then you added notes requiring the presence of three bears, a gingerbread cottage, some magic beans and a giant, and three little pigs with different house-building philosophies. How would that work out?

"We"? You don't get to speak for everyone, and it also doesn't seem like Prishe is what's causing the population to drop. On the contrary, the only things I've heard from folks about the FFXI Alliance raid have been positive overall. If anything, I've been seeing questions/interest pop up about FFXI lore and story thanks to the alliance.

This also isn't anything new. We got FF Tactics gear and two character hairstyles with the Ivalice raids and that was back in Stormblood. I've never played any of the Tactics games, but I still enjoyed the experience.

The "we" is referring to those of us who recognize how the FFXIV story is being weakened.

There's likely some overlap between that "we" and the "we" that is thoroughly unimpressed with yet another child squeaking in that miserable Mockney accent. I've no doubt this sparks interest in XI. Great. I'm worried about XIV. Making it an advertisement for other SQEX products does nothing for me.

As I stated, I think it would be fabulous if you get your hairstyles. Everyone has priorities. But we (in the global sense) can have cute hair without compromising the XIV story.

FWIW I thought Ivalice was quite good in the way it enhanced XIV. The Nier raids on the other hand were a narrative disaster.

The team that works on glams is separate from the actual main development team, so them working on and releasing glams has no impact on the actual main development of the game. If anything, the glam team is the one that has been consistent unlike the main development team dropping the ball in 7.0 and 7.1.

Nostalgia's been slathered into this game since ARR, I don't see how suddenly now it's a problem. Where was this critique when we had Omega raids chock full of FF6 references, many of which were probably lost on people who never played FF6? All the FF4 content from Endwalker, the the FF3 stuff from Crystal Tower, so many characters and/or their names, locations, borrowed lore, there's tons of stuff that's not specifically from FFXIV that has made its home in the game and that's just how it operates. I do agree the Nier raids were very much shoehorned in there, but there were a ton of people playing it when it came out, and people liked the fights, the glams and the visuals. This game has always been a magnet for various cross-promotional content that it's practically part of the game's foundation to constantly nostalgia bomb the player. I saw something earlier where someone was even asking for FFXV content to make its way into the game, lol. FF fans just really love any excuse for more FF in their mmo, whether that's a good thing or not. If you don't like nostalgia/advertisements, you might be playing the wrong game?

I totally think criticism regarding the quality of the main story and the increasing recycling/homogenization/repetitiveness of content (which is likely what's actually causing the player count drop) is totally valid, but I honestly think you're aiming at a target that is not the real cause for the population dropoffs.
