Let us withdraw items from unsubbed retainers (And saddlebag) please.

Having retainers isn't cheap, add in the extra plus saddle bag from the apps sub on top of the retainer subs (its subs all the way down man!).

I had to unsub from mine and now have a bunch of retainers full of items i still need (Like all my materia).

If we unsub from the retainer and app services, at the very least let us be able to withdraw but not add items too the storage space please.
The the very fact we have to pay for this extra storage at a large premium is a total farce.
And hey, it has the extra benefit of freeing up data storage in the back end as these inactive retainers inventory's slowly empty, since the amount of data storage required is the general excuse used by SE for having the extra sub.

Its a win win for both players and SE too let us be able to take items out of inactive retainers.

That would be nice! Currently on my old account, I have one retainer I can't gain back access to at the moment because of weird Crysta payment errors not letting me buy more than a certain number of retainers for some odd reason. Though, this was back a few weeks back.

Just allowing access to a locked retainers inventory, while denying any of the other features would be a nice comprise.

They do get quite expensive, each extra retainer (7 total) cost $2 each monthly and $5 for the extra one that comes with the premium app. I pay six month subs, so it ends up costing me $192.94 each time I resub since I have all the extra retainers and premium app.

So then I guess the question also would be - why do you (in general - not you specific) need that many? Even I craft, and I have four total, and it's plenty. I know people like the expeditions and all, but is that the only reason?

It's a combination of being an onmicrafter, a big housing enthusiast, so I store lots of furnishings because of the poor amount in my homes and also storing glams because the dresser doesn't have enough space and I like collecting glams. I also like having more chances of my retainers bringing me rare items like the neon lights and stone partitions so I have 20 retainers between my two mains but the drop rate is atrocious, it took 3/4 of a year to get my first neon light earlier today.

On the price part, im in New Zealand, not everyone is in the US or Europe, exchange rates often make managing subs horrible since everyone uses US or Euros. (NZ gets charged in Euros because SE doesn't realize Oceania has been independent of the Uk for the past 200 years or so).
FFXIV base Sub (Entry): 10.99 Eur ($20.79 NZ)
Retainers: 1.4 EUR each, 7 additional: 9.8 EUR ($18.51)
Mobile App sub: 4.5 EUR ($8.50 NZ)
so $47.80 NZ in order to sub to this games full features, more than 2 normal MMO subs cost just to get storage space plus base sub. Its just pure greed.
The least they could do for that is not take away the storage space when the sub is stopped, as mentioned, just for withdrawals, not adding more.

And yeah, Omni crafter here plus house, plus glam overflow and artifact weapons since we cant store them anywhere but retainers or saddle bags plus materia.
I have managed to fill all 10 of my retainers, almost filled 2 saddle bags, housing, apartment and FC room storage is full.
I had to cut back to just the base sub due too changes irl and in prep i even tried to sell off everything i could on the MB. But ofcourse, being on OCE, nothing sells as thanks to SEs mismanagement of the datacenter and screwing up Dawntrail so badly plus increased time between patches, there's nobody on the datacenter to sell too.

I just sub a retainer if I want to dump items I want to keep but never use, then unsub it. Super cheap that way. Not that I need to save that sort of money, because that sort of money is not worth anything these days.

Not everyone have the luxury to be from country using usd or euro. Even 1 or 2 extra retainers monthly can be pricy to some people. My sub is already the basic one (the cheapest sub) and it still hurt a bit to see how much in total I have to pay when I have to pay for 2 extra retainers (I'm an omnicrafter).

I don't sub extra retainers monthly these days, just when I am in the mood of leveling my crafters (still haven't done with it). Being able to withdraw from their inventory would be a godsend. Though very unlikely since SE loves money.
