The group I ran with got really, really stumped by the gaze mechanic. It was a pretty hard wall for us for most of our run. Once we figured that out, though, the rest was just being quick enough to keep up with mechanics. Over a dozen party wipes and it took us a full hour and a heal LB3 to clear it, but it was honestly the most fun I've had in a fight in a long, long time. I'm just glad no one left/we didn't disband. We all stuck it out until the end and got our clear. Came out of it with four commendations, too, which felt pretty good.

Never did any of these, I just go into dungeons where a blue quests sends me.

I now did M2-M4, and didn't like any of them. I have no idea what's going on, I don't understand how to translate their emotes into "stand here, then stand there, then stand somewhere else". Funny enough it felt like M4 had the most understandable emotes, while M2 is a complete mystery to me.
Anyway, I did it my usual way: I looked for a player that seems to be capable of decyphering the emotes, and stood where they stood - except when either of us had a mark above the head, then I stood somewhere else. Died maybe half a dozen times per fight because I was too slow, or lost my target in the fray. It's boring and repetitive gameplay, and nothing I enjoy at all. At least M3 and M4 had interesting surroundings, M2 looks like a 3 year old's graffiti. And it also sounds like that...

And don't get me wrong, that's basically me experience with raids and trials since Stormblood - I just don't enjoy the decyphering of complex strings of emotes as game play, it's no fun to me. I was more surprised when it turned out I fully understood - and enjoyed - light-heavyweight M4, but obviously this phase has ended now. And surely Cruiserweight will not help improve my limited skills, it will just make me stop bothering again. So good news for all of you - I did my blue quests now, so none of you will need to carry me again

we actually wiped twice my first run.

I enjoy having this sort of casual challenge where i don't have to study a guide and know exactly what I'm doing.

It was particularly nice as a tank as healers were struggling at parts and I was able to fill in by healing and mitigating even using cover to save a healer, I felt like a Paladin for once as I got to actually use my niche emergency skills I always love that.

I'm sorry to hear that but it's probably just not the type of content you want from ffxiv. I would like people to feel comfortable playing all content in ffxiv that's why I push for harder and more complex mechanics to get them ready for ex and savage fights. It's good that the raids are optional so no one is forced to do them if they don't want to. Hopefully next month and the month after the crafting/gathering and expansion zone give you some content you're able to enjoy.

I honestly think this is the least interesting raid tier yet. I was completely bored throughout, esp the 3rd fight. Maybe it's just be lack of enthusiasm for this expansion as a whole combined with the extreme cutesy, chessiness of this whole raid series, but at 50% I was hoping for a wipe so I could just drop out of the fight and carry on with my day instead of finishing it. I will not be unlocking this on alts.

I absolutely loved this fight. It was exactly what I want from decently challenging casual content. We wiped twice but eventually figured the tells out and then it all felt very fair and doable. As a novel fight in particular it's great to do blind. I only fear that once you have everything down (and you start to outgear it) the mechanics will grow stale (or staler) too. But all in all for this encounter I think the fast pace and the stage changes (and the music) were very fitting.

Together with the story this was certainly the most enjoyable duty in the tier and in terms of difficulty I'd love for them to stick with that kind of level.

Personally i was at my skill cap limit there and it made me doubt myself and i actually wanted to step down from doing arcadion altogether

    BUT

after sleeping over it i see it as a challenge. And challenges are made to be succeeded upon.
Although it might take even longer to learn then the previous R3 fight.

I am not asking for a nerf here. Please leave it as it is. Thank you
For those interested, i managed to beat them now

reduce the size of the boss, or augment the zoom out. and it might be ok. I'm usually to put it at 2/3 from top, I was probably at 80/85% from top before beginning to understand what I was doing. Mechanics are fine, but it get frustrating very fast the fight lack readability due to the size of the boss. To me difficulty has to come from the execution, not reading readability. There are a few time you HAVE TO know what it's gonna do before the mechanic start to not get hit by the next mechanic, and that a philosophy of design I don't like (I think about all the smaller aoe in second arena, then he moved for a swing. You can technically avoid the first mechanic from anywhere, but if that position is too far from the next position, you get hit). I was really pleased with match 5 and 6 readability, but fight 7 was a nightmare on that.

Hell yeah. The Phantom Train is still one of my favourite FFXIV figth. It's not hat hard, but god, it's fun to play.
