P8S also has a "hide behind the adds to avoid gaze" mechanic in p1.
I genuinely think M7 might be one of the best fights in the game, and it's quickly become one of my favorites. Visually great with the transitions between the multiple arenas and the arenas themselves (gee Brute Bomber, how come the devs let you have three arenas in one raid?), and I feel the mechanics are a very reasonable level of challenging for level 100, mid-tier optional raid content. Straightforward enough to solve within a single lockout (though I totally get why the hide behind the adds stuff could throw people off) but still with enough bite to them that you aren't falling asleep at the screen. I've run it a couple times now and had a wipe in every run, which IMO is how day 1 raids should be when all or most of the party are fresh to the fight.
Really looking forward to the savage and seeing what they cook with it, even if I already know I'm going to be miserable doing it on Red Mage again like I was in M3S LMAO
I think M7 might be my favorite of the bunch. I really enjoyed the arena changes, and how Brute Abombinator used the environment for his attacks. His attacks felt genuine, and less mechanic-y The music is also awesome!
Brute Bomber must be avenged!
The fight is super fun, but Quarry Swamp could have been more intuitively presented I guess? I ran with some of my static mates and we were killing the adds well before the Swamp cast went off, to the point where their corpses were despawning at around the same time... so the lightbulb never went off in our heads. We ended up beating the fight without knowing how tf it worked, lol.

Since the tanks didn't interrupt the cast I hard focused my damage on them because otherwise we'd get hit hard
I avoid all dungeons/trials/raids that are not required to progress the MSQ. The fundamental design philosophy doesn't interest me at all. Far prefer PvP, despite its weaknesses.I was wondering the opinion of casual players who don't run extremes or savage fights.
I absolutely fell in love with the 3rd fight of this tier and I feel like it's the best normal fight sqex has ever created, but I wanted an outlook from people who don't normally run harder content.
In my opinion it's hard but not too hard, I think an average group could clear within 3-4 wipes, the mechanics feel good and have pretty good telegraphs if you're use to looking for them, and the story is so much better than the msq story for dawntrail. These are just my opinions and these types of fights are exactly what I think the game needs to help players improve but I'm just a raider so I'm use to hearing my opinion doesn't matter.

My PF group got wrecked by M7 and M8 a couple times, with the first M8 group disbanding after it became clear we didn't have enough DPS to clear the check. DPS couldn't stay up and our "Genesis of Legends" healer spent more time on the floor than fighting. Having to Rathalos the adds was surprising, but my group picked up on it after a few pulls and we got the clear after 30 minutes or so.
How does M7 compare to a newer Extreme (unsynched) like Valigarmanda? I've been wary of trying anything harder than Normal stuff since it feels like I'm a decade behind everyone else.

I like the fight im just mad its not an redacted fighter but overall the savage version of this fight is gonna be a wall. Step outta the way honey b lovely..... redacted redacted is the new wall and he plans to ensure brutal torment and rage quits in party finder.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.

I just did the fight as a RPR and I like it, but I couldn't see which weapons were glowing for tells because they were both too in front of boss- So I died multiple times because I couldn't see which ones were glowing (And yes, I had my camera maximum zoomed OUT)
Everything else is fine- Heck if the weapons were just out more I'd be able to see them.
At first I thought he was too big but then I remembered Prototype Carbuncle.
Not being able to see the weapons is my only issue with it. So I Dunno if it was a bug or not.

That’s a fair point, even with your camera zoomed all the way out it’s often hard to see his tellsI just did the fight as a RPR and I like it, but I couldn't see which weapons were glowing for tells because they were both too in front of boss- So I died multiple times because I couldn't see which ones were glowing (And yes, I had my camera maximum zoomed OUT)

I noticed it was sorts difficult to see which wall his vines were attaching to in the third phase depending on my orientation
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
