I personally don't understand how people like you will go lengths to defend multidollar company guys that probably visit office 3-5 times a month and work for 10 hours total. I am Data Engineer, i get paid just like people you are trying to defend but 0.0000001% their salary, while having 1000000% times more responsibility to customers/business.

People would like ff14 to strive, while mentioned by me people (and many more) just want to burn money on side projects thinking they are valve like developers. I can't imagine telling to business "nah i am not going to make staff work faster on your end, everything works so i won't upgrade; btw one liner fix to python function will be deployed in 4 months, thanks for understanding".

If you can't see similarities to what SE is doing in last sentece, I legit can't help you.

Yoshi apparently works 12 - 13 hours but had enough time to 100% Elden Ring? Constantly talks about other games with decent knowledge that could only be obtained if you were actively gaming. Which would be fine if he used that knowledge to better XIV but we get 4 month timelapses for slop and only get the good thing at the final patch.

Wasn't there an interview where he acknowledged that he only sleeps 2 to 3 hours a day? If accurate, between that and and a 12-13 hour work schedule it leaves 8-10 hours a day for other things.

I think CBu3 & Yoshi needs to be replaced before actual damage is done, It's already caused a migration do not allow them to make 8.0

I played the disaster that was the original FFXIV, before Yoshi-P stepped in and we eventually got ARR. To suggest Yoshi-P has taken the game downhill from where it started is ridiculous. There's been a lot of weird hate over Dawntrail and its characters in particular that I will never truly understand.

t's already at point i cannot run Dawntrail content, 30+ min wait times but go back to Endwalker and it's almost instant. The COMMUNITY hates Dawntrail.

My experience has been exactly the opposite. Near instant queues with Dawntrail but when I tried to queue for Endwalker content last week the wait was over 30 minutes.

Wuk Lamat is actually not top 5, but in the top 3 for "most dialogue lines in game"

1) The amount of voiced dialogue included with content updates has significantly increased over time, and Wuk Lamat benefits from this by being a later introduction.

2) Wuk Lamat was the WoL's primary companion in the last expansion, so of course she'll end up with most of the voiced dialogue. It would have been odd for that not have been the case.

3) Unlike Endwalker, the WoL's team was intentionally kept smaller for most of Dawntrail, and so more of the voiced lines will naturally end up among those that made up that team. Wuk Lamat was in that team.

I'm sure there were other reasons - a desire to show her character story and growth in a condensed period (this expansion), voice actor costs for new versus established characters, etc.

I don't know, people have been weirdly complaining that the Scions need to be retired. Then when a new character gets more screen-time they're like "why is this happening??".

Fair enough, but she says very little of interest or substance in all that yapping, it's mostly "peace and happiness and tacos. And Papa." (EDIT: Yes, I know it's actually "Zoraal Ja, Tulliyolal, and Papa", sue me, you know what I'm talking about... :P )

Characters like Emet-Selch, Venat, Ysayle, and even Hermes have said far more compelling things in far less time, with far fewer words.

Also, You clearly don't know the human body too well cause 2 - 3 hours is not sufficient. His body would rapidly deteriorate within the first month of him doing that. He is human, That is physically impossible to pull off even with coffee long term.

I don't care what he did 10 years ago, This is 2025 not 2014 - 2015 it's been 3+ years of nonsense there is a limit to patience for this crap.

Did I say "he's definitely doing this every day all the time"..? No, I raised a comment from an interview and said "if accurate". You're the one trying to dissect his gaming schedule. I'm just offering some possible explanations.

For the record, there are months when I go with a handful (three to four) of hours of sleep a night, only getting a bit more on the weekends. Be glad if you've never had to do that. It's not optimal or healthy long-term but it's certainly possible. Honestly, after a while you stop realizing that you feel like crap; it isn't until you start getting back to ~8 hours of rest that you realize how much better off you are.

I didn't particularly care for Zero's storyline. I would say it was the least interesting story I've had to go through in FFXIV. Life went on. I enjoyed what came after.

I get it.. you didn't like Wuk Lamat (or possibly all of Dawntrail). Not everyone felt that way. That doesn't mean they were on "autopilot auto consuming". It just means they have different tastes than you. It's possible for you to dislike something and someone else to love it. I'm sure it happens all the time. It's like blasting your music in your car and assuming everyone around you appreciates it - pretty reasonable odds they're actually wishing they could toss your car into orbit.

I had zero problems with Wuk Lamat's role. The WoL had just saved the universe and was taking a break and stepping back into a mentor role. Let someone else be the hero for a while, tag me in if you need a hand, otherwise I'm just along for the ride. That's how I looked at the Dawntrail story, and I felt the approach fit that well enough. I had no urge to rush to the forum and cry "what about meeeeeeee", and clearly enjoyed the expansion a lot more because of that. It's unfortunate that you didn't. There will be more expansions in the future. Perhaps eventually they'll swing back in a direction you prefer.
