Yeah I've been keeping an eye on the patch notes and I wasn't too happy with blm. It looks like picto will be the way to go until 8.0, not really a nerf as long as you keep your GCD rolling and time your paint cycle properly with your burst window. Blm just looks and I know will feel bad.

Picto isn't a mistake, good unique job design with their own strengths is actually something to be praised.
The problem is that they didn't improve BLM's unique design, they only changed it so it plays similarly to every other job design out there. It's a buff to dps, but not to its inherent strengths and core gameplay design.

It's literally about a 3% buff to the job's DPS. If anything the changes will have the opposite effect of what you're suggesting here.
