A world of RP events and people genuinely seeking to enjoy that aspect of FFXIV

Has now sadly became a broken husk of its former self, filled with second life, IMVU transplants and the like

No longer you will encounter anyone trying to seriously engage with the worldbuilding

Not with the crowd that is keeping balmung congested 24/7 that is

The crowd that believed the lewd jokes and jests and made fantasy manifest


Anyway I'm off to Mateus, people actually still roleplay there instead of congregating near a certain bench. Balmung is doomed and will never recover.

I've been on 4 different servers, and 3 different DCs (Mateus included) and in none of them I've felt like I was playing an MMO as much as I did on Balmung
The community and playerbase is very strong. Now, admittedly I don't RP so that aspect remains a mystery to me, on all servers, but Balmung is alive and well, even if the bit about the IMVU transplant second lifers is arguably true. Simply don't use TOS breaking tools and you won't have to interact with that section of the playerbase.

You are so right, despite being a pg-13 game, BALMUNG is NOT safe for children under any circumstances. This was a really good call from you, you're a good parent.

If only square enix would WARN parents about the interactions their CHILDREN could be exposed to.

I remember visiting Balmung to see what the fuss was about and got a request to lick my feet, saw a lala profile saying they 5 years old and decided to go back to main.
