I am not aware of any statement in which he said that those (earrings) would never be available again like he did on old Feast rewards but yes, the Backlash on those Earrings alone taught them a lesson i believe.

He made no statement. He tried it with the earrings thinking no big deal, got the backlash, and probably won't be screwing with that sort of thing again.

The main point was that even though ppl did complain about the earrings they still gave them out and everyone can buy them for $3 on the store with the new name of replica.

I feel like would be it better to add them again with Replica names for old pvp items than never release them like it's been years and years.

I remember seeing someone being pretty smug about keeping the reward coffers unopened.
Reason being, and I'm paraphrasing: 'i have these and you don't and you can't do anything about it and i'm no even doing anything with these'
