No surprises with the collisions/3D features. Transmog has always exposed the limitations of the glamour system. I couldn’t see housing being any different.

the funny thing is, the engine can already handle the rotation of furniture, at least of wall mounted items, you can glitch items onto diagonal walls and they will actually stick diagonaly to them, but when you reload the house they snap back to their default angle.Pretty obvious W for the taking for Blizzard to allow their players to use what FFXIV players have to use a 3rd party tool to do (access to XYZ positioning gimbals)
But not only did they give XYZ gimbals, but also allowing players to rotate the item around all three axes? Blizzard really is back to their peak form of 'take idea of other game, and massively improve on it' huh
here is a window attached to a triangular wall, but is doesnt stay like this because the game doesnt save the angle.
after re-entering the house, it goes back to default.
Kind of a shame and sad to be honest.
so like this?

Blizzard today announced some details of their upcoming player housing system that'll be made available to players in the next WoW expansion due to release in 2026.
I sure wonder what game(s) they're referring to with this statement.
That said, Square Enix should really be reworking their systems so everyone can have a house. Likewise, we shouldn't lose it if we decide to take a break.
Private housing "wards" is a super cool idea, especially if it doesn't involve unsavoury tactics to actually get your guild (free company in XIV terms) and/or friends in the same "ward" together.
There's a few other details in the post including mentions that some housing items will be on the cash store plus the slow addition of new locations for neighbourhoods overtime. At first it'll just be two zones, one themed on the initial Human areas and the other on the Orc areas.
It otherwise reads like they're going to copy a lot of what FFXIV does for housing while also addressing some of the major sticking points that Square Enix are unlikely to address at this point. Although one would imagine the other major MMO indirectly calling out flawed game design is the catalyst to actually address the problem with tangible changes.

Idk why people even comment on WoW's housing, I'd rather have Warframes dojo system.
Way more customization to be had there, Everyone can use it, You can pay for emblems to be added in, Most MMO's have very lazy implementations of player expression when compared to Warframe.
Are we really bringing up a housing system exclusively tied to a guild (which only certain members can be granted decoration rights) to the point where if you leave, it's gone or when the guild is empty gets deleted?Idk why people even comment on WoW\\'s housing, I\\'d rather have Warframes dojo system.

I think you forgot that one of the key things is players in MMOs like owning their stuff. Hence the outrage with XIV housing.

As someone who played Warframe - what?Idk why people even comment on WoW's housing, I'd rather have Warframes dojo system.

Warframe's Clan Dojos are exclusively for guilds, have no exteriors, are completely instanced and isolated from the world, and are less customizable than XIV's houses with the exception of building different rooms. They're not even houses, but large complexes of hallways and sci fi facilities. Custom clan emblems are cool, but that's a clan thing not a dojo or housing thing. Saying "everyone can use it" also makes no sense, because that's not true in Warframe but is true in WoW.
Have you actually seen WoW's housing system? It's literally a perfected version of what XIV has now.
Bring back 6.0 Dragoon.

They were clearly throwing punches at FFXIV, which refuses to update and innovate their housing system even though it is requestst for so many years now.Idk why people even comment on WoW's housing, I'd rather have Warframes dojo system.

WoW is holding a gun to FF14's head and FF14 just sits there, dazed, saying "huuuuuhhhhh??"They were clearly throwing punches at FFXIV, which refuses to update and innovate their housing system even though it is requestst for so many years now.

It's so bizarre to see the passivity from CBU3.

I don't get it - What is this with "running laps around XIV", "giving XIV a black eye" and "holding a gun to XIV's head" commentary?
The whole scope of WoW's housing has not been yet shown, and people treat it like a death sentence for every other MMO in the industry.
