Mounting while moving is something I didn't know I wanted. Patch is looking good!

I think we all realistically knew it was gonna be 2 more months until Occult Crescent.
I personally have no issues with it being 7.25, but I do have a issue with how long it's took us to get to 7.2 in the first place, waiting 4 and a half months for a "major" content patch with very minimal content is unacceptable.
7.2 should have already been here a long time ago if anything we should be in 7.25 or coming close to it, but because patches have increased it becomes even more long of a wait, especially in those X.1, X.3, X.5 where nothing but a new trial and alliance raid is usually added.

There's no way it can when they literally do it for NPCs already. And they made this picture for us last year.
It has to be some mindset issue where they feel it's not ready despite confirming they were "working on them" all the way back in October 2023, despite confirming they had "prototypes" in the media tour, despite what you see there from 6 months ago, and despite 6 additional months to "ponder" if it's good enough to release.
It's the sort of thing that players made work overnight.
I'm glad they're refocusing on what makes MMOs special. You can play solo in most games, what makes this genre unique is the massively multiplayer aspect. It's fine to have solo options but that should never be the main focus.
People on this forum spent the entirety of Endwalker complaining nonstop about not having a grind to do.
Some dude farting out a mod in his free time is not the same thing as a software corporation developing a new feature among all the other tasks they're juggling and then rolling it out to multiple platforms. And before anyone says it I'm not "defending SE," I work in a very similar field and understand why these things take a while. I once had a task that was literally turning something from off to on that got caught up in approvals for two months. It has to be some mindset issue where they feel it's not ready despite confirming they were "working on them" all the way back in October 2023, despite confirming they had "prototypes" in the media tour, despite what you see there from 6 months ago, and despite 6 additional months to "ponder" if it's good enough to release.

Also pretty hilarious that the raid planner is delayed to 7.3 because they don't think it's perfect yet, only being added after 2/3 tiers for DT are finished and in a patch that doesn't even have a new savage tier lmaoThere's no way it can when they literally do it for NPCs already. I understand that, but that's the issue I'm highlighting. Their team is so split up into departments, procedures and approvals that the most basic task that could be done in a lunch break takes over a year and a half.
And that's a problem that a lot of players are being affected by. Somehow, relatively simple tasks need a bit more free reign and the ability to crossover into other departments' jurisdiction ie. design, UI being all done by the programmer so they can just get it done in a lunch break, instead of it taking literally years.

The financial analysts have said to yoship, you need to farm this content out on the monthly sub schedule, 4 weeks, don't give a two for one month with new content.
That's nothing unique to SE. What you're describing with "departments, procedures, and approvals" is literally every software developer. I haven't been anywhere where that wasn't the case. I understand how it may not make sense to those unfamiliar with the environment that relatively simple things aren't just done and sent out the door, but that's not how things work, and even less so the bigger the company is.I understand that, but that's the issue I'm highlighting. But you don't have to take my word for it, here is a video by a veteran game dev who goes over the same thing.

Consumers are not getting value with this product. Corporate structure is none of the consumer's concern.
I don't give a shit that the spicy ketchup I bought for $7 tastes like artificial crap because the manufacturer's wife had an affair with his uncle's boyfriend.

But it's not our job to 'understand'. It's our job to consume the product and rate it. And it's SE's job to deliver stuff for the money we pay.
If it's not that easy then it's their job to find solutions and spend enough ressources to solve stuff.
I am waiting since 6.0 ended that something interesting/longlasting drops. That's a long time. And I am really surprised and highly upset that they push the new field content backwards, even now where so many people have enough of the ff14 waiting simulator.
If they push it too much then they even might clash with the release of the new Switch 2. What will people prefer to do? x3
