Someone I know made a point that the official AMD showcase video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhQecal2kE8 ) only referred to FFX(VI), not FFX(IV). Thus the "the outlier" with regards to XIV is probably accurate and something to do with the game itself instead of any specific testing setup or the benchmark itself. AMD never claimed any XIV performance from what I can see, both Gamers Nexus and der8auer probably made a mistake with roman numerals. I was also excited about the 9070 XT but my gaming hours being so majorly XIV will probably make me wait for a nvidia refresh instead since I'm not in a hurry to upgrade.

You're right about AMD's showcase featuring FFXVI not FFXIV, however the problem being highlighted here isn't claiming AMD set this expectation in their presentation, but rather, that all the other games tested perform around RTX 5070 Ti levels, whereas FFXIV performs a whopping 25% - 30% worse than what would be considered the norm for this card.

Also, as much as I wish it was just a misunderstanding, Gamers Nexus uses FFXIV as one of their standard games in benchmarking, so it safe to say, they didn't make a mistake either, the card just sucks in FFXIV right now, hopefully only temporarily >.<

There could be architectural resin, but the most likely explanation for that much of an anomaly...
    Is experimental error.
It's below gamers nexuses usual thoroughness not to comment on it if they didn't?

Yea they said they've tested a bunch of times and they're looking into it >.< Fingers crossed still.

Proud but sad owner of a XFX 9070 XT and FSR is not able to be turned on, unless I am just being a blonde and it's forced on but greyed out to me usually means not enabled and the lil pop up when launching said FSR is not enabled.

Also Average FPS of 56 sitting idle in limsa.

Yeah I managed to snag a Pulse 9070 XT for MSRP and not looking forward to the performance in FFXIV. Fingers crossed that they can figure it out in a driver update. A lot of ppl I know play on AMD GPUs for FFXIV and they did reassure me about it too.

So I'm still happy with the card as I'm building my 1st desktop after using gaming laptops forever (travel for work). The performance value is great in all the other games I'm interested in.

Building on Sunday so will report back on how FFXIV performs.

Let's hope a fix comes out for ya before than! till then I can say for certain even if it caps at 60 it feels like the smoothest 60FPS I have ever felt.

If I recall correctly, the upsaling option only lights up if you reduce the scaling form 100%. It's also only FSR 1.0 so probably not worth bothering with. I have a 7800XT and manage upwards of 80-120fps (my panel refresh rate cap) at 1440p and max settings, I remember on Windows I could see 200+ in some places when I uncapped the frame rate.

yeah I have mine set to my monitor refresh rate of 165Hz, I would get around 70-120 FPS depending where I was with my old 3070 Ti, it's really sad to see it preform worse than a card that weak and old. I hope a fix comes soon

That does seem a little out of place, just out of curiosity is this A: The same Windows install that you ran the 3070Ti with? B: If it is, did you just uninstall the Nvidia driver and plug in the AMD or did you run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)? Also what happens if you keep vsync set in the AMD driver but uncap the frame rate in FF? Taking another look at those screenshots, I'm noticing the GPU utilisation is showing a fair amount of headroom, are you CPU limited in Limsa?

EDIT: Did a little testing on my end in Shirogane, I know a spot where I get only 80 odd fps (X13.5, Y11.7 looking southwest toward the lighthouse) and pulled up my system monitor I see 80% GPU usage, but none of my CPU threads are getting over 80% regardless of if I set the game to 1440p, 1080p or 768p (GPU use does vary accordingly though). What I can't say is if it's because I'm running the game in Linux or because there's an actual problem with the game.
