They could at least give us changes of weather by season and if they do, it's not at all noticable. Even FFXI was able to give us noticeable seasons back in 2002.
Interesting thing about seasons in FFXIV.
We know there are seasons because NPCs often measure time by the number of "summers" or "winters."
The day/night cycle is equal over the year, implying the axial tilt of the... can we call it a planet for now... relative to its orbital plane around its sun is zero. (The fact that sunset/sunrise is independent of longitude is, of course, impossible, but let's let that skate for now.)
In the absence of axial tilt to produce seasons, the only conventional method of generating them is if the planet is on a significantly elliptical orbit about the sun.
This in turn implies that summers on the planet must be significantly shorter than winters.
