But you know what? Despite the years of FFXI development experience and all that time and effort Tanaka put in the game, it was still severely underdeveloped, buggy, and just barely playable, if that.
Yoshi in the course of one year is taking Tanaka's 4+ years of work and rebuilding it into a practical WORKING and fully functioning game while still developing content based on the current engine and server structure. So some things like instances might be rampant in the game for now, but that doesn't mean it couldn't change in the future, it may just mean the current server limitations are holding back the true overworld content.
