Current Housing issues - The Lack of Actual Housing

No it's too early for that . they would have to theorycraft a proper response and commit to something. but then again they have "comitted" to things before that still haven't surfaced :P like from the 6.2 LL when they promised personal workshops and a 3rd deployable for company(?) workshops.

Did they say ANYTHING about housing in PLL? If they did, I haven’t found it.

Not a word, probably next one… only thing they’ve said elsewhere is that the item limit increase isn’t ready for 7.2, so probably coming in 7.3.

Telling me to unlesh my anger at the correct target when you are blaming DEI, the current conservative scapegoat, is one of the most hilarious things you could have written.

As much as I would hope that competition from Blizzard would encourage SE to make improvements to the housing system, I think it is highly unlikely. I think that both SE and Blizzard already know that most players are not coming to their games because of housing. And while I have no doubt that the dev teams at both companies would enjoy a friendly competition, their corporate masters only care about profit. If a well implemented housing system helps WoW retain players longer, the bottom line will show it. If not, it will not be further developed. If SE sees player numbers drop after WoW deploys housing, then maybe they will do something in response. In any case, we're probably 12 - 18 months away from seeing anything real from Blizzard.

Housing mains are already on their way here to tell you that the scarcity is actually a good thing because it makes housing more valuable, or something.

I am wholly in support of adding more (or instanced) housing. I was on Seraph when it was still new and still had to fight others to get a house. A small. In the Goblet.

Having to abandon FCs just to have a chance to participate in this system is unacceptable.

Yeah, those are the same people that say an HOA is good for the value of a home. HOAs and buying up all of the homes are both underhanded and slimy.

As somebody who spends most of the time near my own plot. What reason do you have for coming to my ward if you don't have a plot here? What activities outside player created ones direct you to it? I am here because I enjoy the quiet from the hustle and bustle of Limsa in a space of my own creation. It would be nice to have more active neighbours. But once you have a set housing design and you feel "finished" there's no reason to stay out in the wards unless you create your own fun within it or you enjoy the quiet.

Everyone comments about a housing crisis but also comments that wards are dead. Seems like housing is a must have, until they have it. Players build what they want, have their fun and then move on to other things, the actual dedicated that are using their plots/Apts actively, venue owners use their plots and apartments, housing designers, and those who enjoy the quiet away from the masses are a minority. Most get the thing that's so hard to get, decorate it, move on and maintain a subscription to not lose that investment.

Now if they, say, reworked the housing system to bake plots in the main city hubs of Limsa/gridonia/uldah, it would be used FAR more since its visible and not out of the way in hub areas while still having access to hub city services. Like Stormwind but if the houses around the city actually had a player who owned that plot. So if you get bored you would wander in and out of peoples plots, and from that you might run into some emergent adventures.

I used to go swimming with a friend when I had a small cottage in Mist. It was fun. She transferred to a new server and we haven't seen each other since. I've also gone swimming in the hot spring in Ishguard's new ward a few times.

I doubt it. WoW's decorations will never equal what you can do in this game. With the right addon, you can literally place any object anywhere along 3-dimensions. WoW will never have that kind of customization. If you've mastered the glitch system in this game, you know what I mean. Hate the housing system, but once you get a house, your possibilities are unmatched in any other game.

I ask because I often hear it was "promised" and the citation is "we are looking into increasing the housing item limit." which; is the same thing my parents used to say when I asked for a pony.

There was in the second LL before patch 7.1 was released where they said the furnishing limit expansion would be arriving in 7.2 or 7.3 and the interior size upgrade (upgrade cottage interior to a mansion size for example) would be arriving later (no date given) so I speculate that feature would at earliest be ready for 7.4 but it wouldn't surprise me if it was 8.0 that it releases.
