They already got the message about the repeated lines.

They were intentional to explain the story and make sure people understand what's going on. Especially since there are a lot of players that return after many years and don't really remember anything.

I agree that they were obnoxious to me in some cases, especially in Heritage Found where it's very easy to figure out what is going on when you have the context of Shadowbringers, which everybody does. We went to Yyasulani which was supposed to be fully built up. It looks decades old. 2+2. Time has progressed by decades in this bubble. They slowly figure it out when all the scions there would know mostly what is going on. Then the round table meeting later on repeats everything that had just been said.

Acting like it's harder to get through than any other expansion is silly though. I not only did Dawntrail, but all of its sidequests - and I got through it. It was just like any other expansion. It was better than ARR because we had a mount from the start and were able to fly after completing the zone's story events.

There are also a lot of intriguing parts - for example, meeting the legendary Ketenramm who was assumed to be long dead and merely a historical figure. Mamool Ja being more than just NPCs you 1-shot at Upper La Noscea. A home for the Hrothgar. Urqopacha and meeting the giants... who we previously knew as things we kill quick in Copperbell Mines, so understanding their lore was nice. Visiting Shaaloani and the ceruleum problem we'd heard about in the Blue Mage quests.

Could SE have done better? Yes. Absolutely.
But crying foul and demanding a DT 2.0 and straight up striking a main character out of the expansion is just nonsense, and no amount of waving arms around about that will make them rethink.

    - Intentionally repeating a message over and over to someone is bad writing, because you don't trust your audience, and treat them like they have goldfish memory.
    - Meeting the legendary Ketenramm aaaaaaand.. what exactly? We barely interacted with him, he just got thrust onto us and was there.
    - Getting to know the origins of the Mamool Ja, okay
    - Hrotgar already have a home in Bozja??
    - Giants and their culture, okay
    - Yeah, we heard about it there and it was a Whalaqee problem, NOT A COWBOY problem. They just erased the Whalaqee and the ceruleum plotline

Your reasoning is as shallow as the MSQ, you're going to have to work harder for that Square-Enix Medal of Honor you're aiming for with all this defense you're tossing for the devs and writers.

Right, but that was not actually a writing issue. It was a decision made beyond the writers, since Yoshi-P himself "wanted to portray them properly". So context is important in understanding why it actually happened.

We never knew what happened to him. It was all myth and rumor. Gulool Ja Ja basically did an adventure kinda like Ardbert, and to find out he was part of that and was still around was cool. It's unfortunate if you cannot appreciate it, but people here don't appreciate anything so...

Sorry to see you weren't excited for that. I was.
Hrotgar already have a home in Bozja??
Wouldn't call that much of a home. It's a warzone at the time we visit it and they're sleeping at a camp. We didn't visit a peaceful place where they live like we did in Tural. We didn't properly go to southern ilsabard yet, the area still covered in clouds.

You really didn't appreciate that? I thought it was cool. The most magical part of the expansion for me.

They can co-exist... and clearly do. I remember it was even mentioned in the blue mage quests how they were sort of a separate area of that place so we most likely only solved the problems for his specific people and their specific mine.

Why shouldn't critics have to work hard?

Honestly, at this point. I WISH I had your ability to be excited for tablescraps worth of a story instead of a full meal that it should be.

Maybe it's because I did sidequests. A lot of people don't, and they really space it out so there are gaps of not talking to Wuk Lamat, and teach you more about the lore of the area.
