

I could make the exact same argument for Island Sanctuary and botting.So blow all the dev resources on another irrelevant piece of content that only 5% of all the players will play/engage with and only 0.5% of that number in a legitimate way? (i.e. not bought on boosting sites and not cleared with screen overlay hacks and the 1-button rotation plugin)
The Devs make content for a broad range of players. Sit down and shut up, attacking content you dislike is childish. The game is for everyone.
The whole "only 1% of the players do this content argument" falls apart easily when you consider that all we would be left with is like 2 pieces of content if all they did was cater to the few most popular ones. One of this game's strength lies in its variety. As long as the content is not completely dead not being able to make groups, there is no reason to stop making that type of content. I just think how they release stuff is off not gonna lie we get the ultimate first before anything else or before the field exploration I do speak for both gather/crafter and combat one there. I just feel they cater to raiders before anyone else something I do find weird and stupid because once it is done they still leave. In my book they should release the longer content first then ultimate.
And I do wish they don't add kefka as a ultimate because he literally is just nostalgia and nothing more
Don't care, i'd love to raid fighting past final fantasy bosses in a difficult setting like ultimates. Reused boss designs isn't a issue for me. Long as the mechanics are fun

Now I'm looking forward to the Ultimate fight where we gotta train our mammets to save our island sanctuary from an increasing number of farm bots trying to steal our resources.
I don't really see it as a waste of resources since it can be replayed quite a bit. The casual audience will get their relic grind as well as their expansion zones which you don't see raiders complaining about that. As for only 1-5% of players being able to clear the content, I disagree with that. It's not that only 1-5% of players can clear, it's that only 1-5% are willing to put the time into clearing the content. Anyone can clear an ultimate, they just need to invest the time into learning the fights. Everyone complains there's nothing to do, but no one wants to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. You can say it's because the high end raid scene is toxic, but I've seen the complete opposit, the most toxic players I've seen play normal content at a decent level, get a big head and look down on everyone. Once you get into savage and ultimate prog, you realize you're not as good as you think you are and it's humbling.
I could say dungeons are a waste of resources since you only run them once for the story, then use them for roulettes and tomestone grinding. I haven't touched a dungeon in about 3 months. The same could be said for PVP, only a select portion of the community like it. The same could be said about housing. There's so many things that could be called a waste of resources, but I don't think anyone would want to see them fade away.
I agree with you on release timing. I think the first step of the relic grinds and expansion zones should be released at launch to ensure people have things to do, patch 1 should be savage, 1.5 should be savage unlocked and ultimate, patch 2 should update the expansion zone and relic grind, ect. As for nostalgia, UCOB, UWU, TEA, and TOP is all nostalgia, the only ones that are original is FRU and DSR, but I will say DSR may be the greatest ultimate to date. I wouldn't mind an ultimate surrounding the Ascians, or zeno, but is anyone really going to want an ultimate from dawntrails story?

Absolutely. Would love a Kefka/Triad matchMaybe I'm biased when it comes to this since FF6 is my favorite game in the franchise, but I fully believe kefka deserves an ultimate. Think of it, you start the first 3 phases by defeating the warring triad, kefka then drops in and you need to fight him to try to prevent him from absorbing the warring triad and becoming a god but ultros comes in when you're about to defeat him and messes everything up, then you go into the final phase fighting god kefka. You can't tell me that wouldn't be an amazing ultimate. Maybe it's not the most intricate but the fan service would definitely be there.
