People are free to partake or not into the mentor system and what they do think about the usefulness of the system is at their own discretion, but I'd personally like to have a pvp mentor status that comes attached with some pvp strings. They do not have to be hard, much like the pve requirements aren't, or even the underwhelming trade mentor reqs, but they should be there to ensure pvp mentors have at least spent some time doing actual pvp.

I just don't see there being enough content in PvP at the moment to justify the existence of PvP mentors.
Amount of CC games played, and another amount of FL games played at the minimum. Something like 750 and 750 to match the 1000/1500 from pve. Numbers can be discussed and aren't that important, it can also be 500/500 too, although I'd argue that pvp has a much steeper, less intuitive learning curve compared to pve.
Since I'd like SE at some point to reconsider why they didn't feel the need to attach the doh/dol role quests to the requirements of the hammer mentorship (pve does it so why not doh/dol?) if just to ensure people are at least advanced up to the current expansion's content, then it is only fair that pve rolequests should be required for pvp mentorship since I don't see what else from pvp could fit the bill otherwise.
