People are free to partake or not into the mentor system and what they do think about the usefulness of the system is at their own discretion, but I'd personally like to have a pvp mentor status that comes attached with some pvp strings. They do not have to be hard, much like the pve requirements aren't, or even the underwhelming trade mentor reqs, but they should be there to ensure pvp mentors have at least spent some time doing actual pvp.

I just don't see there being enough content in PvP at the moment to justify the existence of PvP mentors.
Amount of CC games played, and another amount of FL games played at the minimum. Something like 750 and 750 to match the 1000/1500 from pve. Numbers can be discussed and aren't that important, it can also be 500/500 too, although I'd argue that pvp has a much steeper, less intuitive learning curve compared to pve.
Since I'd like SE at some point to reconsider why they didn't feel the need to attach the doh/dol role quests to the requirements of the hammer mentorship (pve does it so why not doh/dol?) if just to ensure people are at least advanced up to the current expansion's content, then it is only fair that pve rolequests should be required for pvp mentorship since I don't see what else from pvp could fit the bill otherwise.

Except that is not the thing that holds back most pve mentors. Its the commendation count. You can play 5000 dungeons, if you lack the commendations you wont be a pve mentor.

Commendations at least require someone to vote on you, which as healer and tank is easily farmable. But very bad performances there will be noticed, and hold players back here. Sure, pvp could also get such system, as long as its anonymous voting. But that is realy the only measurement you could take. But even then, the worst players can still get these. Its still kinda pointless.

To me the real reason to become pve mentor is mentor roulette, and even then its just so you can show off a quite meaningless mount. But the roulette can at least involve some extremes and bring a fun challenge there (and yet, too many mentors just take the penalty for leaving instead)

I have seen sprouts that are significantly better than most mentors. I have seen a lot of mentors that plain struggle with an extreme and need to do them in unsync to keep the roulette, while sprouts can do the extreme in MINE setting. Again, the NN is just a global chatbox with some restrictions for entering, where mentor status is the ticket to be able to join it.

Also, i do agree that DoL and DoH should get the job quests as requirement. Even if its just 2 of them (1 gatherer and 1 crafter based), it at least avoids the case where someone in HW can get the mentor status (as now it demands the current expansion). But on that same note, pvp doesnt require max level at all, so if it has a mentor status... how would you balance that then?
