You might actually reach 100 days. Concerning....if the devs are forced to look at this because of the constant bumping then so be it. I hope this does not backfire on you.
Leave PvP as is. Dead content after 2 weeks of ranked. Anyone who has RL duties, won't ever see passed gold, thus fomo, and the dream of 'cool' armors reserved for those who don't even care about them. Along with flavor of the month jobs that are just broken, RDM and GNB. Along with all the rest of the 1001 problems with it, 10 hour animations that don't initiate skills, you die ON potions on the field, every job has a silence, slow, silence, stun now, and Recuperate, and the santa claus list continues. No leave it as is. It's nothing compared to other pvp games, and it should have never introduced rewards and some of the best looking armors in the game in a mode where nobody cares to do, but it is what it is. Cope, Hope, Fomo, good luck doing ranked after 2nd week still in silver/gold. Even the Malmstone grind makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
I remember In Wuthering Waves they had an event in which you can get a free 5-star character (and a good one at that + yes, it's gacha game) if you get a certain ammount of points. Basically, if you played the event at all, you would get said character, requirements were this low, essentially. And if by some reason you forgot to claim said free character, by the end of the event you would get the in-game mail with unclaimed reward = said free 5-star character. So if free-to-play gacha game, which by design supposed to drain money from it's players, can afford to show this much care to it's players, I think it's more then fair to ask from a subscription based game to do the very same. And while it's not the main concern of me, I will safely add to another list of demands we all should be making to make this game better.
...we haven't had armours in ranked for more than two years, calm down mate. You are free to hate on FOMO systems as you like, but we really haven't had anything to that level in a long time.
However, the irony is you said "dead content after 2 weeks of ranked" - like I don't know what to tell you other than this being a result/symptom of Ranked having absolutely nothing going for it. I'm not suggesting FOMO items like it used to be, but I do suggest reward systems that would incentivize playing it for more than just an initial placement in a skill tier or a specific rank range - something that you can only get by actively playing Ranked, but can be obtained in any season.
If that condition is not met, then you will continue having the pain of anything below Platinum struggling to lead to frequent matches, because the players will simply ask themselves "what's the point" and queue down because they don't get anything for their time investment.
My point with FOMO is having a 9-5, 1 hour or 2 max of playtime, whether armors are top 100-300? rewards or not, trying to get to crystal rank, the items for augmented hellhound weapons, means you'll never be able to acquire them, since it dies now after the first 2 weeks of the season for bronze to gold/plat(maybe). Again reserved for those who don't care for them, as I've visited many twitch streamers and none of them sport them or promote them. I personally I don't believe any of the armors or weapons should be locked behind ranked but I understand, it's the only way to also show off your greatness at being top ranked in pvp. Fine! I Get it, AFK in Limsa in cool ranked PvP armor....we haven't had armours in ranked for more than two years, calm down mate. So here's my solution to attempt to make all happy.
For top 500?, 300, 100, 2nd and 1st ranked - Minion, Mount, Fashion Accessory, Title, Chocobo Barding, Achievement, Portrait, Plate background, Ranked Currency for your armor. The top pvp'ers get it much much earlier. (This should be a thing EVERY pvp season btw) Small Different looks from top 300, top 100, 2nd and 1st ranked? I guess.
For us casuals and bronze league heroes like myself, we get none of the extra rewards - Only the armor which would be available and only purchasable at the next season (maybe a slight color swap, or different name), since I tried and I'll never see crystal rank with my limited time, the armor coffer or each piece separately (Im insane for glam) costs 20000 + 20000 wolf marks + malmstone crystals & same for 1 of the items for the augmented hellhound.
It lets the heavy pvpers get all they want, with incentives, and the filthy casuals to work and grind for it and only available for the next seasons. This would be my fix to "what's the point"
Hopefully instead of "misinformed rant" here's me yapping of a solution. Hope, Cope, Fomo.

I am just going to keep bumping this for visibility, eventually someone with pull will see it and bring it up in a meeting and then they can possibly make moves to enact change.
You're right in some sense. People only know what they see. The best way to spread your idea may be to spread it loudly.
I've recommended something like this before. Ranked players (T300) get the dyeable armor outright. Nobody gets dyeable ranked gear for free, but they can work toward it or save up their tokens for an armor that they really want if the previous sets arent appealing to them. Undyeable and Dyeable sets are always on the shop for purchase with those tokens, no FOMO, everyone is happy.
