Oh wow that's a lot of info. A few things I wanted to add or had questions on:

In regards to the "Potitus" name Dalmascan/Imperial Miqo'te had, I think may be a similar situation to "Arvina" used by Imperial Roegadyn. Considering Potitus means something like "captured" or "seized" and Arvina means "fat", I don't think these are names that the people of those races specifically chose and it may be names pressed upon them as subjugated races of the empire.

For their history, they seem to have populated Eorzea at the start of the Third Astral Era, before getting kicked out by the Allagans to the "outskirts of Ilsabard" before getting conquered by them again anyway. I can see the scenario that they were exiled during the early imperial era, settled far away, and then Allag came and took them over again many years later and then used them as laborers. Koji also mentioned that Miqo'te coming across the ice and also Meracydia is not contradictory in this interview: https://gamerescape.com/2018/12/01/f...with-koji-fox/. Just like Hyur and to a lesser extent Roegadyn are present on every single continent, Miqo'te also seem to travel a lot and as we've recently seen, are also present in the New World. Meracydia itself seems to just be collecting "unexplored" tropes, culture, and flora and fauna from all over as the game continues. It started with West Africa in 1.0 and then Ancient Egypt was thrown in and now Australia. I guess we'll find out what the situation is if/when we finally go there.

One question that I had is did any of your research find anything about how common actual tribal customs seem to be? Like you said, there seem to be multiple Miqo'te who mention both of their parents. I wonder if it's something that's changed in the writing team over time because even Y'shtola and Y'mhitra have different mothers but the same father in seemingly a tribal-style family dynamic despite Sharlayan seeming to otherwise be much more cosmopolitan but lately Miqo'te seem to be written as having nuclear families. There also seem to be a lot more male Miqo'te around with the First having an equal gender count and both them and Tural not even have nunhs or nunh-equivalents. Despite being the center of the Seeker population of Eorzea, Limsa Lominsa seems to lack any insight into Miqo'te culture there and instead we get U tribe even though Miqo'te don't even make up enough population to show as a census value of Ul'dah, and then M and J tribes of Ala Mhigo who we did not know existed before we got there.

I also wonder what the dynamics are between Seeker tribes as the current situation as presented by the lore would seemingly cause genetic issues and inbreeding over time inside of the tribes, even if there are multiple nunhs per tribe. They seem to readily mix with Keepers like you also mentioned, but Keeper men seem to travel around from what I remember. But that would also come into conflict with what you mentioned with what happens to Miqo'te who live in tribal societies and get pregnant from someone not a nunh.

I feel like a lot of this lore as well as some other things became headaches for the writing team and they've mostly just decided to ignore it altogether and move on. Just like how Au Ra were originally only from the Far East of Othard and so different that Yugiri decided to hide her face from Eorzeans, yet they mysteriously make up a large percentage of Thavnair despite no Hannish Au Ra showing up at all before EW, Limsa doing a ton of trade with them, and Hannish NPCs showing up multiple times before then as well.
