No, it's much more likely that SE only wants to commit as minimal attention as possible to FFXIV to maximize profits. Those dead-on-arrival NFT projects and half-baked PS5 games have to be funded somehow.
Just because you're over it doesn't mean it's not still true. We all know the circumstances under which 2.0 was developed. It's not reasonable to take this attitude.
