Nah. SE dosn't even care to read the forum or Threads anymore. It's more ''buzz buzz buzz. Yoshi P what about the forum?'' Yoshi P: What forum? ''Buzz buzz buzz''Just waiting for the "There ____ crappy little cottages in the goblet on ____ dead world on Dynamis! SoUnDs LiKe A yOu PrObLeM! Go SeRvEr TrAnSfEr! Don't mind me and my 40+ houses! Hurr-durr" Crowd to come in.
The housing system is absolute garbage. We needed instanced housing years ago, but they'll lose all the subscriptions housing holds hostage, so positive changes are unlikely to say the least. Assuming they even care to read feedback anymore.
A hope is that bright light burning within each and everyone of us!

You want instanced housing, go play ESO. You can buy as many houses as you can afford. I have over 40 with at least 35 fully furnished, but their system doesn’t compare to FFXIV’s. Their player market is a miserable struggle with very limited furnishing options compared to FFXIV. They love glowing plants and shards lol. We just need more wards.

People really think that they're gonna be able to make a instance.Housing version where players are freely able to wander in...You want instanced housing, go play ESO. I think players should have their own instanced plot. That is friends list limited. But I truly don't think that's what people want... Players want the visibility with the plot of their choosing, but you can't have both.

Yes, this was actually what I meant to emphasize - instances are isolating. I love the community potential of our wards.

I just want everyone to be able to have a fully functional plot, instanced or not. But personally, I would like that to be an option just to have more spaces to decorate, and for instanced to open the way for more housing features that the permanently loaded wards can not provide due to their technical limitations.
The wards are great and some people will always prefer that, but there should be something equivalent to a full housing plot for those who either haven’t had any lottery luck, or just want a space to decorate and don’t care about their visibility, which is more than you might think. Make a directory like apartments, and if they’re worried about too many people in an instance, they could just set the same limits as the Island: friends list, FC members and/or party members.

I dont understand this idea that adding instanced housing requires us to delete the current wards. The players without houses already do not go to your ghosttowns of wards anyway.
Besides this game LOVES redundant systems, we have 3 systems for running dungeons with AI controlled allies, whos to say we can't have the housing wards and the superior instanced houses?

Also if anything, if instanced housing was to be put in the game, ward housing should be the "superior" housing and have added things that instanced doesnt have, not the opposite.superior instanced houses

See that’s the only part I want for XIV: multiple housing options with that kind of variety, but set in Eorzea. Ultimately I’d like there to be housing options of every shape and size, in the game world I actually love. Can you imagine one of those two-story townhouses with a courtyard, but in Ishgard? Or maybe your own version of Matoya’s cave? The possibilities are endless… so many places in this world that would make a beautiful setting for a home. You want instanced housing, go play ESO. That’s kind of the point though… they’ve painted themselves into a corner with the wards because of their technical limitations. We can get all sorts of new features like new layouts and item increases on the inside, because all interiors are instanced. With the wards needing to be permanently loaded at all times, anything they add to outdoor spaces becomes a massive server drain. It’s why an instanced area like the Island can support more outdoor furnishings than the yard of a mansion, or change the ground as though it were a carpet. Ward housing, if you prefer it, great, but it can’t support the kind of updates and innovations that an instanced space can.Originally Posted by Clockworks
