Given how spammy pvp is and the sheer amount of aoe abilities, resolution of escapes and defensive abilities should take precedence over attack abilities. A well timed escape should be rewarded.

As it stands zerging results in effortless kills and risk taking is punished. It makes Frontline a miserable experience where nobody ever wants to take initiative and do anything risky.

Better pvp games such a overwatch go to great length to ensure that for instance a reaper using their defensive ability during the same server frame as a sniper headshotting them takes precedence. Ffxiv should learn from them.
