It's pretty intuitive that an ability that lets you restore all durability for 112 crafting points is pretty poggers or that groundwork would be used very heavily.

As another aside, if you're just worried about gearing for savage, you've had plenty of time to gear for chaotic now. Give that a go and sell the hair and you're rolling in gil.
    chaotic? Chaotic?!

Played a most 24th. Queuing DF.
So much fun! People dropping in and out, re recruiting. Everyone was 'chatting' about how to handle mechanics. Dint really make it to P2.
    25th didn't play.
26th can't back yesterday. Duty/raid finder was already dead. Queue just kept going up. P2 matchmaking queue was worse 30m estimate, and I suggested to be the only one in it. So 30m to never

So I tried PF with my only geared job 720+ PLD.
A true whole day this time. Abandon after abandon after abandon after abandon. At about 23:00 last night I finally got to see my first seeds because a party didn't quit. I had fun in that one final PF. But when I think back did I have fun yesterday?
No at all really. Not because of lack of prog. But just PFs that don't talk, *dint even say Hi* (this is Light by the way) and then abandon.
I tried in my MNK, 714 iLvl. Actually did ok but I did notice the only job with hp as low as mine was another healer.

Yeah sub runs out today. Can't say I'm ok with that but I'm ok with that.

But you know just dismiss the RP community as well. "You can buy the hairstyle on the market". Doesn't hurt me. After seeing the add-ons for glam, I don't bother with glam either now. Just whatever great I equip.

The RP community would just use a mod to give themselves the hair.

On one side. This is a symptom of SE not giving more character customization in a game where character customization and looking unique is the most important part of the game (Ffxiv is an mmo. Allegedly, the jury is still out)

On one side this is a good opportunity for raiders to earn gil. Earning gil to buy things is not hard, even with minimal time per day.

This is it. I completely agree.
Casuals never had a problem with glamour itself like shiny weapons or dyeable raid gear locked behind harder content.
They just unsynced it later down the line.

    The hairstyle is different though.
    First:
It’s an extremely good hairstyle with apparently more bones than usual and was highly anticipated.
The last hairstyles where just not good or put into the store so to have this one locked behind savage is just gross.

    Second:
    Hairstyles are not gear.
You have so much gear that you can do something unique all the time.
Hairstyles are so limited the it is hard to do that.

You thought they would have learned their lesson with the Shb job gear locked behind an extreme and the feedback. There is a reason we got that one as virtue gear in pvp later.

It's not entitlement that more casual players are upset that a type of reward that has been gained through more accessible content are upset that it's locked behind content they're actively discouraged by a large portion of the community from even setting foot in.

I'm a raider progging this content and I agree with them. The gear and mounts were more than enough. The hairstyle is probably something they should have held back for the exploratory zone or a Variant reward.

Why do some people feel entitled to cosmetic items such as this? I genuinely don't get it. It's obviously there either: as a reward to players doing difficult content, or as a means to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone.
Even so, it's purchasable on the market board, so why is it such a problem?
last time i check , the game is a paid service , people are ENTITLED to complain all they want for absolutely anything , we are customers

Like I’m not sure how to explain that if you are worried about content dying then ripping even more rewards out of it is exactly what you shouldn’t be doing as most people who cleared criterion agree it’s really good content it just does because it has no rewards. An expensive hairstyle and mounts is the bare minimum of what rewards should be in the content. That’s about the same rewards as DRN of all content
I have to disagree here even though you make good points.
A hairstyle less wouldn’t have impact on how long the content stays alive.
It will die out like criterion because while it has proper rewards it has a 24 man requirement and a bonus system that is only good if everyone is new to the content.

They also have a point in being frustrated in how long they can do this content.
It’s a sentiment I see often in the pfs I have been into for CAR.
People try to power through because they don’t want to grind it after a week or so when the bonus will be gone.
People like me who raided before like the fight in itself but are getting frustrated because of pf bingo and just how unforgiving the body checks are in tile phase.
Many are thinking “I power through and never do it again”. Even those who just want bis gear think so because it is just not fun in pf.

DRN is also not a good comparison because that’s normal content.
Even Delubrum Savage wouldn’t be because as long as the core players are alive you can just yolo it.
CAR will not have that in the long run because a few mistakes can and will cause a wipe in tile phase with its rezzing people on the wrong platform while demanding body checks in the parties the entire time.

No hairstyles should not be locked behind anything over early ex difficulty at most.
Not as long as we only get so little of them in varying qualities.

After the long period of only savage+ content, no proper rewards in events and the absolute disaster that was the Eureka Orthos and wet mop hairstyles, this was the absolute worst time to experiment with this.

    Edit:
The pure contempt and insults against casuals in these threads makes me actually ashamed to be a raider.

But that just circles back to the point discussed across the last page or two. It’s not “locked” behind savage, it’s purchasable on the marketboard.

If you don’t want to do savage that’s totally fine, if you think the content is flawed regardless of its reward structure that is also fine (and I’d agree) but in this game casual content is the main money generator (as opposed to something like RuneScape where high end endgame content and skilling is the main money generator)

How can you claim you are locked out of rewards when if you really don’t want to do savage for a reward you can just do 10 hours of bunny fates and buy it instead. Where does the “casuals shouldn’t be blocked for x item” argument stop because this exact same discussion happened around the DRN hairstyle. People thought DRN was too hard and the hairstyle too rare.

Like i said i another thread, it would be glorious when something that the hardcore raiders want, like a BIS piece would be locked behind a casual 50 hours cosmic exploration journey with hopefully mandatory max level crafting/gathering involved so they cant buy their way out of it.

They would collectively lose their marbles and say that the rewards don't fit the content.
Oh how ironic and satisfying it would be.

A lot of people want to experience the content and earn the reward through their efforts, not just buy it off the marketboard.
