Looking for some specific information on gatherables

Specifically, is there a database or resource somewhere that shows a list of all Market Prohibited items that can be sourced from gathering?

Closest I've found is just the Lodestone, but considering each entry requires 2 clicks to determine if it's Market Prohibited or not, I wanted to see if there was anything easier for me to gnaw on before I start digging through all 23 pages of that.

I can't think of any database that will filter specifically for Market Prohibited gathered items but I might be able to help narrow your search a bit.

There are some words that will point you to many Market Prohibited gathered items but it's not going to catch all of them. Any gathered item with "Rarified" (collectables), "Oddly" (ShB relic tool quest materials), and "Connoisseur's" (EW relic tool quest items) in the name will be Market Prohibited (keep in mind that's not true of items with the same word used for crafting relic tools).

    Carbonized Matter is Market Prohibited.

Gathered Materials for ARR relic tools, Aetherial Reduction and many of the big game fish are also Market Prohibited but there are no common keywords to help filter them. The closest filter to narrow down the list would be by level needed to gather the item (will be 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100) but you're also going to hit gathered materials used in crafting that can be sold on the market board.

It's not the solution you're looking for but hopefully it will help a little.

This includes outright Untradeable items, but

    Rarefied items
ShB and EW Relic tool items
    Custom Delivery items
The Crystarium/Studium/Wachimeqi Delivery items (Wachimeqi fish become inaccessible after the respective quest are complete)
Collectable Fish* (only if gathered as a collectable, unless they're Custom Delivery or "Role Quest" fish)
Umbral and Antumbral Rocks, Fragrant and Redolent Logs, the Olgoi-Khorkhoi, Silver Sovereigns and Gigant Clams (Lucis/Supra Tools)
    Grade 1 Carbonized Matter
The 8 Big Fish involved in the Beast of Brewer's Beacon and Feast of Famine quests
Ocean Fishing Blue Fish (Also known as Fabled Fish)
Every item involved in Stormblood's gatherer quests (These become inaccessible after the quest is complete)
All items from The Diadem which have not yet been appraised

    I think this is everything.

    Turning in Collectibles

I am new to gathering, a new Botanist. I have some rarefied items in my inventory that I have gathered while harvesting for my gathering log. I have unlocked everything - I believe. I have talked to Zoehe in Idyllshire and Lydirlona in Mor Dhona. When I go to a collectible appraiser and I see the items they say they will take, and I have that item in my inventory, but it is shadowed. I cannot click on it in order to create the trade. It clearly says I do not have the required item, BUT I DO! Is there something I'm missing?

My instinct is that you probly have these items gathered at too low of a collectability score to turn them in. To turn them in for exp and scrips, rarefied items need to be gathered with a certain score of collectability or higher(its the 3rd column on the appraisers screen - typically either 400 or 600). You use your Scour/Brazen/Meticulous skills(along with the modifier skills like scrutiny) to increase the score before you collect the item for turn in, if youre able to pass the minimum score you can get extra rewards(exp/scrips) for higher scores - all of which is shown on the appraiser list. I just did a test with the first rarefied node that was up. I gathered one item at minimum collectability, and then maxed the node to collect a few more. I have 6 of the item in my inventory. When i pull up the appraisers menu, the item i grabbed is listed in white instead of the grey for the other items she will take. But her list says i have 5 of them under quantity, not 6. And indeed, clicking on the item in her list shows the 5 that im able to turn in but the 6th isnt on the list. So this is my guess for your situation. If im right and you want to get the items out of your inventory and get something for them, right click on them and choose the "Lower Quality" option to change them from being collectables and into just items you can sell for a small bit of gil. I dont remember collectables being super well explained in game, but play with them a little and it should start to make sense.
