I have run maps since SB and yeah, in all my time running, i have never had luck as bad as Dawntrails.

Yoshi-P has stated he wanted to reduce the amount of gil in XIV economy, and he blamed treasure maps as a source even though that's not remotely true. It would not be a stretch to assume he had the success rate tanked to 'fix' what he viewed as generating too much gil.

This person is either running maps all day every day to sell coffers, buying from other servers and reselling, or cheating.

Nearly every piece of endgame content can be automated. FFXIV is the only MMO that openly allows people to bot and automate content like this. And because this is FFXIV, nothing will happen.

Maps are one of the few ways that casual players can get spare gil. It’s an equal opportunity time investment, which of course is why Yoshida doesn’t like it. FFXIV is no longer for the casual player, it’s for the hardcore player that progs raids on Christmas and has shell FCs with subs. Yoshida will never, EVER do anything about real gil farming.

It’s on the low side but sometimes RNG can be good. We got 3x room 5 in 10 maps the other day. To me, the biggest issue with the current maps aside from extremly low chances to see a coffer or decent loot (have not seen a coffer in 252 maps and the amount of gil is low), is how every fight in the first 4 rooms is pure trash mobs that do nothing. At least EW had different bosses and even though they were easy, it made them less monotonous.

And oddly enough, the same user is selling figment coffer after figment coffer on the MB on my server day after day, multiple listings. As someone who has yet to even see one drop, this is a clear problem with drop rate and MB. This person is either running maps all day every day to sell coffers, buying from other servers and reselling, or cheating. If my experience with the MB is anything, then probably a gil farming bot user with 46 fc houses. They control that item on the MB entirely. The in game market along with the drop rates are pathetic in this game. Especially since DT and I can rarely sell anything on the MB anymore due to these people. And get a weapon coffee to drop? Yea okay. I can't even win the minion in the alliance raid with two consecutive weekly runs of a 96 and 97 rolled on it.

There was a dude on YouTube who made a goal to buy every minion in the game that was listed on the market boards, but he wasn't allowed to farm for those minions. He needed to make 250 million gil in order to make that goal. What was his method of making gil? Soloing B'raxskin maps as a WAR and selling the coffers.

If you spend 2-3 h of your afternoon and your whole party got merely some minor rewards, but also not even enough rewards for everyone, then it feels like you wasted a good afternoon. The gameplay does not exist. The rewards do not exist. The joy does not exist.

Yes, you get some gil. No, it does not make up for it. This is why I don't run maps. It's not gambling for coffers, it's gambling with my limited lifetime. Please, SE, do not waste my personal time with this poor "content".

I'd personally rather farm the weapons than buying them from MB, but the chances to get a weapon are so low, I'd rather not.

Making older maps always give a portal would give a reason to ever go to do the old ones at all

My FC stopped running treasure maps because of how bad the rng to even enter has become. In a time where it's one of the only things to do, it's a shame.

Groups that I used to do multi-hour map run sessions with (FC or other) basically just dissolved because of the extremely bad RNG.

Im guessing they'll add another map later with better odds, even maybe zone specific like in EW.
