That's a pretty cool idea and definately would be a great asset to party play and ensuring PLD as main tank.
My only issues would be:
A) This would ensure that WAR would not be tanking, defeating it's hybrid purpose. Cause I'd choose this skill over a WAR anyday. (Generally because off block buffs and HP increase due to PLD.)
B) Somehow feels like a warrior skill effect, rather than a Paladin. However, this is just from how I could picture it.

Definately a great idea though.
