Apparently it doesn't need calling out lads. OP barely heals, does 0 dps and wastes everyones time, then has the audacity to whine about it. This isn't a single player game, they are also responisble for the time wasted of other players. No one is saying they should give you dogs abuse or anything nor are they asking them to absolute superstars but at least make an effort and they should at least be expected to take some criticism when this happens. Truth be told I'd have just kicked them from the instance if I seen them AFK without a valid reason.

So if you aren’t “terminally on the forums optimising gameplay” you should be grateful for the offered feedback on how to improve as a healer. OP’s stance is basically “since I’m not sandbagging advice is invalid”

If you are using holy but using cure 2 over solace that’s a point a mentor can and should point out. If your response is “well yes but it’s not like I’m a heal bot” that’s not really the mentors fault especially when you have the added circumstances of the fact that like the person you replied to said for an even semi competent tank a healer isn’t even needed. While this was obviously done to reduce healer stress it instead just makes people want them to perform harder because otherwise they are wasting a party slot so to speak

Not many people want to log in to watch some petty person watch every cast they do and criticize over and over in a dumb roulette. If the game is as easy as everyone states here, then who cares if you lose some healer DPS while meanwhile no one is dying because they are being healed and the Healer is still DPSing when they feel it's safe to do so.

It's fine if the mentor makes a point to help someone improve. Then...let it go. Stop bothering random people in roulettes. If they want your advice, fine. If not, let it go. These dungeons only take 15 minutes anyway. Do something better with your energy then be annoying.

Someone should certainly not have to feel "grateful" for someone who acts like this. And you know what? Sometimes I Medica 3 when I could have used a Lily because it's a pretty skill, it makes me happy to use it, and it's my free time. Sorry if I lost 300 healer DPS out of it. Big whoop. My enjoyment means more to me and it's not like the dungeon will fail.

Just because your advice is good doesn't mean that you can deliver said advice however you want, to the point you are ruining another player's enjoyment of the game.

Just as Op needs to understand if they don’t take this advice they are gonna keep getting it from other people whether they want it or not because square has sanded the jobs down to such a ridiculous degree of efficiency people don’t want to play with people who are functionally cure botting

It’s all well and good to say “people don’t have to listen to advice and if they ignore it you should just shut up” but if the person doesn’t want advice then fix the route of the cause that’s constantly having people give them advice

Nowhere does OP state that their gameplay constantly results in them getting unsolicited advice. It was a story about one specific irritating and unpleasant mentor.

My advice to OP is if you don’t find the feedback useful then ignore people like this and never argue or engage with them. I’m all likelihood you’ll never see them again after the 15 minutes the dungeon takes. I have never run into such a petty person in game but if I did I’d ignore them.

No, no they did not, the evidence is there for you to look at yourself. They literally went an entire 24man raid with 0DPS or Chain Strategem uses.

I’m just using the fact pattern in the OP. I’m not going to research someone on sites that break the tos. This story wasn’t even from a 24 man.

Even if OP is absolutely terrible at their role - a mentor should drop their feedback and move on. Not badger for an entire dungeon and probably slow the two other people down who aren’t even involved with constant typing and bickering.
