Okay 8% vs 7% was the difference of 1% worth pointing out, hell go 10% I’m fine with that (@lyth read this). It’s actual “utility” is nothing particularly special amongst the DPS that have utility
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
picto is mostly op in fights with many downtimes, since they can use it for paintings instead of being "afk", which grants them overall more uptime that results in higher dps
they just have to remove downtimes in future content and picto will become less relevant

I would even be okay with a half-assed nerf if they make the Hammer require melee range to use
This would work if it didn't outperform BLM in full uptime content. Which it does, but unlike BLM it also brings a team shield + healing.

Its mobility should also be taken into account. It has a dash that gives a move speed buff and the hammer combo is all instants with a 25y range, which is a lot for a caster with the highest damage, a raid buff, and a personal/group shield.
It's what I've been doing for weeks now and it actually shows the ridiculous state of the game.
Being able to duo treasure maps on Warrior + Picto with 0 issues just shows that something is fundamentally wrong here.
Absolutely this.Imagine if they would actually buff all the other jobs instead of nerfing picto that would literally break every content we had so far and would be another EW situation were everything is just a walking simulator and boss die in a snap. SE just keep making bad decisions cuz they are afraid of making mad someone but they need to understand that you can't please everyone and taking half measured steps wont please anyone.
I get that you don't want to constantly nerf everything, or you end up with a Helldivers 2 situation.
But constantly buffing everything is equally as terrible, it leads to ever increasing power creep over the course of an expansion, in a game where most of the content is already too easy before the job buffs.

Good. Picto should remain strong and BLM shoved in the darkness it belong until they make the class interesting.

So, problem with PCTs finally makes it to General Forums. Unfortunatesly, peoples, in Mao opinion, only touching tip of iceberg and not looking at root. Mao thinkings that while boss-fight design continues to tread down path of DDR/Simon, is no chance for jobs to be properly balanced without being homogenized to the point of being unrecognizables from each other. SE CREATED THE ENVIRONMENT WHICH LEAD TO ALL THIS AND UNTIL SE STEPS BACKS FROM DDR/SIMON, NOTHING WILL BE FIXED. SE nots showed any signs of ending thems drive towards more DDR/Simon so is why Mao walked away. Mao still wants see FFXIV do well though and bring much funs to players so Mao trying to get peoples see what the REAL problem is. Mao hates DDR/Simon so much. Is not just that Mao so bad at it. Is also that it nots something that promotes spirit of adventures. Adventures happen when unexpected things happen and heroes has to react quicks to save the day. Is no need for that with DDR/Simon. All has to do is memorize dance steps and then clogs-dance to beats of boss-fight mechanics. Is soulless fights and thems soulless fights is being used to redesign jobs to be soulless. Mao sad.
Why do yall even care? Make your own group and play whatever you like. Every job is viable.
