If you remember 1.0 then you actually remember 1.17->1.23b which was basically “ARR is coming for the moment we are going to intimately listen to feedback both for short term features in dying legacy and long term features for ARR”
The transition from original legacy to yoshi p legacy to ARR worked specifically because they listened to the feedback of the people who stayed ad well as changed the direction of the game when people left. They didn’t just chance on ARR’s design after legacy failed

Oh nice I still have forum access for a little bit. Because I definitely wanted to say that that was a damn lie. It's a good thing the old forums are still up because you can go there now and see the discourse, not to mention the countless other forums that used to be active back then. Most of the people playing either came from WOW or FFXI and back then FFXI was more popular so people just went back to their respective games or moved on to other things. That said the ones that didn't leave stayed and held SE's feet to the fire. Without those people you wouldn't have a game. Sounds like you were one of the ladder.

Incorrect. I've seen countless people complain and leave over the years. They don't post anymore, but instead this expansion managed to piss off another batch of players who used to like the game.
Everyone's journey is different but each will come to an end.

Completely forgot about this one. Aren't the purchases you're allowed to make also limited unless you pay up for coins? This already exists with the XIV Companion App premium service plan.

IIRC, 2 per day for free users, 10 for the premium.
I can't check for myself since the app has been showing an error massage for months now on my devices.
You have the gist, but it’s actually more onerous than that. Free users get 1 credit a day that can be used for a single market board transaction (buy/sell/adjust price), but only upon login to the app, and can bank up to 2 credits. Premium users get 2 credits a day upon app login and can bank up to 10 credits. Extra credits in the form of “Moogle coins” can be purchased for 20 to 12.5 cents each, depending on how many you buy at once.Completely forgot about this one. I was interested in premium as an omnicrafter, since you also get an extra saddlebag and retainer. But decided against it as the system is too complicated and not a good value. I’m curious if there’s actually anyone out there with premium who find it worth the cost.
I'm an omnicrafter and had the same mindset but I pay for premium. It has come in handy once in a while while at work but I mostly got it for the extra storage space since I like storing lots of furnishings for the various holidays to furnish a mansion. I also have 10 total retainers who I use for ventures and I have a pretty decent chance daily of getting something rare like jet black/pure white dye and rare furnishings and such. It's not cheap... I pay $192.94 every six months including a six month sub xD.You have the gist, but it’s actually more onerous than that. Lel, yeah. I also payed up for 10 retainers. It's wild how much storage you get if you pay more.I'm an omnicrafter and had the same mindset but I pay for premium. If you have a few alts in a shell FC, you get ridiculous amounts of items you can sell on the MB.
Forget crafting, the Quick Ventures will be your source of passive income.
In a way it's actually amazing how so many people like you have quit, and yet the reception to Dawntrail is still negative lmao
The churn rate of FF14 is so high that I've seen so many former white knights from 2 or 3 years ago become the "doomers".
Not that they will ever recognize their hypocrisy though.
