Petition to fix Miqo'te Face 2 Eyebrows

This was literally the only problem I had with the graphics update. I love my face 2 miqo, but I hate her angry eyebrows. And I did use the free fanta to pick the least-angry iteration, but she still looks like she's about to slap someone.

Yeahhh, you know that when the most gentle, soft, neutral of the eyebrow options becomes yet another "50 Shades of >:| " then there's something seriously wrong with this picture. All the other options look downright unusable right now with how silly they look.

(Also for future reference, you can change your brows at the Aesthetician! No need to use a fantasia for just that.)

I ended up swapping from eyebrows 1 to 4 because it more closely matched my original eyebrows. But it's weird because it's like the original style still existed, but assigned to the 'wrong' number, like 4 is the new 1 -- kinda same with the other styles.

All the eyebrow options got "squished" from the 2nd benchmark and onwards; here's the more technical explanation given by Valence:

Essentially yes. As an ex dev in 3D art, this screams to me that they adjusted something on the 3D mesh of the face, but forgot to readjust the UV map and potentially the 2D textures behind. As a result, if you move the 3D vertices even a little, it will start dragging the 2D texture around and distort it enough that it can cause pinches or at the opposite stretching it, which is essentially similar to changing its aspect ratio.

Here it could be that they moved some vertices up on the forehead which is tugging on the top end of the eyebrow texture, while also potentially having squished vertices closer to each other on the brow ridge, perhaps to make it more defined, but as a result it squished the eyebrow texture pretty hard as well.

So for your case, eyebrow 4 may currently have a width closer to the pre-Dawntrail look of eyebrow 1. All of them are messed up still, though.

I can understand that since they reworked everything through the graphic update things obviously will have small differences, diffuse textures having been modified, UV maps being changed, the 3D mesh as well... so the difference between pre DT and 7.0 makes sense to me. That they try to bring it closer to what it was before once 7.0 got feedback, as promised, also makes sense to me.
What doesn't make sense to me is that they fucked it up even more for 7.1 by squishing every eyebrow into an angry è_é face for every option by making them all identical in looks, completely losing not only the vibe difference of the old ones (including 7.0), but also the texture quality, because it's all squished now. It's a sloppy work.

Agreed that what we have now is sloppy and low quality, but face 2 actually had no changes in 7.1. It was the the 2nd benchmark where they got compressed, and all this time they still haven't changed it, despite bug reports being made on it.

Hence the need for people's voices in a petition!

Sorry to hear that But understandable. I hope this gets fixed, and then maybe your friend will want to go back to Miqo.

Unfortunately this face doesn't have any notable NPCs (that I'm aware of). But anytime I see it on a random NPC out in the wild it makes me think "Yikes..."
