This way more prevalent and I hate it. I wish people who we see die in the MSQ stay dead. But Nah, everyone has to live happily ever after for the most part. Everyone is incredibly hard to keep dead in this game. They keep coming back. The Explorer guy that we hear about and see in DT (Srsly cant recall his friggen name atm) even gets a fake out death when "Someone" Ambushes him in Yaktel and we hear a sharp slash sound effect.
He's totally fine next time we see him, and he even comes ready to fight lmao
We've had way more midlanders and midlander types die. "Types" will make sense if you're caught up in msq.
TMW Hoary Boulder joined the Scions so he wouldn't get killed off
It's true though, most of the mook enemies are Hyur/Roegadyn/Lalafell. Even the gravekeepers in PotD are reskinned Roes. How about some Hrothgar mooks?

This is the main reason why I picked Roe, I think this character was Elezen initially and I was disappointed when more than half of the Scions' main cast were some flavor of elf. Moenbryda was a breath of fresh air, and then she got disenchanted within the same level bracket ;'(. At least we had Hoary for a while, but we barely see him.

Only one I'm aware of in recent stuff is the villain of the Viper questline
I don't know how I stumbled on this but I know that style of writing. Especially the descriptors for Lalafells. Devil Panzerfaust I am onto you! Hehehehe

Elezen die *way* more frequently, since Elvaan were always a favorite target of plot related deaths in XI.
I appreciate the under-representation in the game, because I feel like I'm actually meant to be in the story.

Think about how every time there's an important male roe in the story they give them a unique custom face. They just don't like them at all and try to make them look like hyur lol.
