I love how FF14 Costumes is more then the entire WoW shop combined.I was waiting for someone to bring up WoW being "So much worse" about monetization. I got rather bored and compared both stores after seeing a claim about 14 being far more expensive and yeah that wasn't a lie at all. Here is a breakdown by section and I am assuming you own the game if you are looking at these and even if I didn't 14 would still be losing heavily. Now of course this is a simple number to numbers comparison and you realistically will not be buying the whole store for each game of even be buy an entire section like fantasia for example or every character service and toke in WoW.

That $90 brontosaur while overly expensive in pricing isn't even close to the death of a million small micro-tranactions ff14 is. You are free to correct my numbers as well as I admit I am human and may have entered something wrong. I am by no means trying to paint WoW as being better but I wanted realistic data of the stores for comparison.

Wow costumes are horrible. You get some free decent ones from The trading post.
wow has opera gloves and shoulder capes.take note devs.
I'm kind of impressed that it took them until 7.1 to actually realize there was a noticeable lag on the tank death prevention CDs despite it being brought up countless times and if I'm not mistaken dismissed as something that wasn't the fault of the game itself.CBU3 is going to rest on their laurels until the subscription numbers start to seriously dip. A lot of these things are issues players have been complaining about for near a decade at this point and they just don't care enough to fix.
I'm convinced they don't understand what keeps people playing between patches, because they always neglect those systems (glamour, housing, etc.) They just throw a little small change every now and then, but even those often come with significant negatives to make them less useful than they could be.

The only thing that turns me off from WoW is the way they handle the expansions. Wdym I have to make separate characters to play older stuff.

~sigh~
I could have but given those items are not part of the FFXIV store I didn't feel the need to include them, that would require going to the Square Enix store at that point which is a whole new can of worms comparison wise with the Blizzard Gear store.

Blizzard monetization is hardly more predatory than FF14 as earlier post ITT shows.I find their follower dungeons very boring actually
delves are really fun, but wow's normal dungeons are somehow even less brain power require than ff14.
I don't have faith they'll make housing fun personally. looking back at garrisons, and how much monetization blizzard is stuffing in. 50 dollars for a roof lets go
I play both games atm mind you so i don't have a dog in the race of tribalism.
But, good thing WoW has Heroic and Mythic + thats scaling forever for dungeons and the dungeons are actually different from each other in design unlike FF14.
Though, saying normal dungeons are dull while enjoying the mostly linear delves that u can solo is pretty funny.

I 100% agree, something like Delves would be great in XIV, esp for casual to midcore players. TWW has been a great time, esp compared to DT, from story to events, to just gameplay. I wish they would steal a little bit from FFXI too while they are at it. How amazing would it be to get something like Dynamis, Assault, Campaign or Beseiged? I love how in XI even "trash" mobs have a chance to drop items that you need instead of just being there as filler to make a series of square rooms with boss battles feel more like a raid instead of what it really is, a glorified trial.
Besieged, btw, just got a boost to make it relavent again. It's still pretty quick but they are going to be doing adjustments to it until they find the sweet spot. Something you can actually count on the FFXI team to do but not the FFXIV team. If the FFXIV team did have it, it would forever stay faceroll because it would be abandoned immediately.

We don't need delves though, we need something like bozja or eureka with cool rewards and iirc one is due for DT but Sqenix is actually super silly because they should just include that at release and then add to it during the expansion.I 100% agree, something like Delves would be great in XIV, esp for casual to midcore players. Small indie studio I guess..

Why not both? It's not like we have so much content we can't keep up lol. Variety is the spice of life.
