When I say old content I mean I’ve done it
I’ve done almost every savage fight that’s ever existed and I do treasure hunts all the time
I don’t know how to make this clearer for you
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Is it so unfathomable that players may be on content, especially if they have been playing this game for a long time already?
Also, in this thread, we are specifically discussing duties that were added in this very patch. To condense your list to things added in this patch, it would be:
- Do some hunt trains to upgrade your gear (this is not drop in content, you have to wait for spawns.)
- pvp series (hit or miss with this update, very controversial changes)
- new extreme (apparently, the fight takes a couple of hours to learn, and after that, its a 12-15 minute thing)
- new unreal (if you have played during Stormblood, you may have already technically cleared this, I know I have)
the only thing on that list that could, potentially, offer long term motivation would be PVP due to the nature of PVP (Crystal Conflict is pretty fun, after all), and the Ex Mount Grind (at least until you have 99 totems). But asking every player not interested in progging Savage or Ultimate to bridge the wait until 7.2 with this list of content is, lets be honest here, a tad bit too optimistic.
Unreal was made with players that joined in later in mind, so they could re-experience raids as they were on content. Its not exactly new stuff for veterans.
RIP Viper 28/06/2024 - 30/07/2024. It was a fun month.

They have the achievements, they've done the content. Nothing was said was a lie. You may be a completionist, but not everyone is, not everyone considers mindless busywork content.

I don’t feel the need to get every achievement for a piece of content before I move on. Just because I haven’t got the 20,000 accursed horde achievement doesn’t mean I didn’t give deep dungeons a good crack. Just because I didnt get every big fish achievement doesn’t mean I didn’t give fishing a good crack
I do content as much as I have fun with it (isn’t that what people who defend the games content always say) and that doesn’t always lead to every achievement. The only content I seek out achievements is field content because I truly love field content
If anyone wants to comb my achievement list I have nothing to hide, I’ve given a solid crack to every piece of content I’ve mentioned

Achievement grind is a niche hobby the same way only very few do ultimates. This is a bad attempt for a shot at someone because they don't fancy the same thing as you. Game is lacking fresh content and it shows.
