Sort of like how anyone who complains about the casual difficulty getting thrown abuse their way.

Personally I don't like the direction of fast paced, action, dodge dodge dodge in every duty now. I can explain how I don't want them to take away difficulty I just don't want it present in every duty. I liked Shadowbringers level of content, I could come home after a stressful day of work and Nier was alright! Pretty good Raid series! Eden was pretty decent too! It was fun without asking too much of me all the time.

And then I had my Extremes and Savages for the weekend, I could prep myself for all of that easily, got a good couple days to tackle difficult stuff at my own leisure. It's not for everyone but there was a clear set difficulty for Casual, Midcore and Hardcore.

Now if I mention that I dislike the direction, how there's too much being asked of me in every duty? I'm given abuse, told that I should be run off the game, some of the things that have been said to me and others has been disgusting. I know it's the internet so I shouldn't be surprised, it doesn't get to me but it does scare others off from giving their thoughts too.

At least in the forums you can express that, in reddit due to karma your comment is vanquished lol.

I suggested it as part of my horizontal light progression, but an interesting issue I feel with healers and the system in general is the better geared you are the more boring and irrelevant the content can be for skilled players, especially in a group. Try a dungeon at max ilvl vs min, fairly evident difference.

So the thought was the casual gear had better survivability (even perhaps cool down based vulnerability stack resistance) and the savage gear had WORSE survivability, perhaps worse to specifically avoidable damage (raid wide and auto attack can be similar) and better damage. In addition the gear, and perhaps through a gentle ELO system, would cause the boss ai to /slightly/ bias those players for mechanics.

In this way players can almost select a difficulty slider within the content itself, adding an additional layer of player expression and choice. The relevance to you being that it would be a little bit more bite sized for you, and yet more aggressive for others.

As you get better you kill faster and remain, for longer, a challenging experience. When you are new you have a high chance to make progress, just not at meta speed.

When you need help the most you have it, when you need challenge the most you have it. (Sort of).

Also because it would slow down healers being kind of pointless, due to horizontal light meaning more stat variety (and special effects) but less stat growth. As gear gets better heals become stronger and the incoming damage also reduces meaning healers heals become less needed, one of a few healer issues. Also please keep epic echo for solo-ability.

Forums are bad for feedback becasue:
Only a minority of the playerbase actually read/use/watch the forums
Also a lot of players dont want give feedback on forums - because they get atk'ed for their opinions.
And it dosn't help that the forum consists of mostly of the same "players" - it's a huge echo chamber.

It's overall a hostile and bad environment for feedback lol

I imagine it's hard for them to find the good feedback here when many posts are completely ridiculous and say stuff like "Yoshi P hates us, (content) literally ruined my life, ded game" (this is barely an exaggeration).

Yoshi-P has a well known quote from a presentation where he states that "A complaint is worth twice a compliment. The silent always leave first. If they complain they still care". For the most part I agree with this sentiment but I think it has a big flaw in its logic. There are also people who are silent because they are happy with things and didn't feel the need to make a forum account to complain. I think their flawed method of collecting feedback shows in changes like the mount tilt system. A small minority of players didn't like it so they nerfed it to the displeasure to the majority of players who did like that feature. Now you have people complaining on the forums to revert the change but getting these devs to backpedal on a change is much harder.

What they should do is implement some form of player survey, either in-game or in emails to improve their data collection by seeking out the average player rather than having skewed data from the forums. If they had this feature they might've seen that like 85% of players liked the mount tilt as is and could've instead made it a toggle between off or the current intensity. But what instead happened was that they saw a few dozen people on the forums say they hated the tilt and extrapolated that it must be some widespread problem they need to address, and these are the ones who cared to "speak up" for the silent majority who were too apathetic to voice their complaints. They give a small reward for occasionally questions like a token for some minions or something idk. Make feedback represent the actual playerbase better!
System -> support deck -> Contact US -> leave a suggestion

Suggestion: A suggestion is an idea that one suggests, or says is good for another (or others) to follow. Some people may agree to it, and some may disagree. If they disagree or have a different suggestion, the person who first suggested the idea will usually discuss with the other people and find a good conclusion that satisfies both and is good. A suggestion is someone's opinion on how to do any task, but a person is not necessarily expected to do it

I think there needs to be some kind of public survey offered, say, two weeks into every patch, but I'm not sure how you could implement this in a way where a sizeable number of people would actually do it. It would need to be something easily accessable, so not a pop up in game that gives you a link, since that'd be a pain for console players. An email to everyone with an active service account maybe? But I feel like most people just ignore those.

Maybe combining the two? A pop up on logging in that says you have received an email about a customer satisfaction survey?

The forums still need an active sub to post don't they?
Considering that, it's really not a good way to get feedback. they should be getting feedback from players who quit, and why.

They already do. There is a survey form you can fill out when unsubbing. It's active players they need to reach out to.

Part of their job is to know how to identify and synthesize useful feedback from the sea of different posts.

They don't even really take feedback from non-japanese speaking players.

They really should pop like annual in-game survey to collect feedback from people. As it is, it is really hard to reach them to give proper feedback.
