I really dislike how FFXIV handles movement skills.... Wish it was a blink as you would think one to be. Coming from WoW it makes FFXIV skills feel 2d with a 3d facade:/Shukuchi doesn't work by teleportation despite how it looks, it makes your character invisible and drags you along the ground like any other movement ability, and you will get similar if less lethal results by trying to use it in the Tumblr Sexyfrog in Dohn Mheg during the tightrope segment.
I believe it used to be a real teleport at one point, and a NIN quest still has a tooltip that tells you to use it to reach a vantage point, trying to do it will force your character to the floor bellow and make you do the climb of shame back up, tho it is no big deal cuz you can ignore the tooltip and just jump to the spot the game wants you to go, not as bad as the SMN quest that still expects you to use Titan-Egi as a pseudo-Tank and good luck doing that nowdays.
I understand the complaint and to an extent I agree, but I imagine the moment they started making mechanics that demanded precise movement, the second boss of this very dungeon has one, leaving NIN with a "I get to ignore this entire genre of mechanics" button felt unfair to the devs, alas...

I agree with your thought process but also I think that type of stuff is what makes you go "Oh F-- I'm a ninja" (f for flower.. mhm..) and just thumb your nose at it.I understand the complaint and to an extent I agree, but I imagine the moment they started making mechanics that demanded precise movement, the second boss of this very dungeon has one, leaving NIN with a "I get to ignore this entire genre of mechanics" button felt unfair to the devs, alas...
Good opportunities to set class flavor, assuming it isn't savage or ultimate content where that will ensure it is the only pick lol. Like when I'm being chased by a monster as a demon hunter I go, oh yeah - and just jump off the cliff and glide away, meanwhile on hunter I feign, and on death knight I refuse to die lol.
So I agree it would be seen as a difference, but I'm not that should be seen as a bad thing.
