We didn't lose anything. Even if you overcap, you miss out on absolutely nothing to before that change. Do not fret about overcapping so much, is what I'm saying! It's just to positively, absolutely, unequivocally make sure you can use it even when solo.
But... you can already use it when solo. Dancer's basic combo generates Esprit on its own.

Besides, simply changing to a free use of Saber Dance/Dance of the Dawn would not impair that either. Tillana does not need to be +50 Esprit and it never needed to be.
