Or maybe do it like the aquariums… items could be put into size categories, so you could place so many small, medium or large items…

But again, I’m not sure if the server drain is based on the size of the items, or the total amount of things it would have to keep permanently rendered, so I could see that being used as an excuse.

Maybe that's true for now but once PS4 support is dropped in 8.0, this may be possible since the current generation consoles would be able to handle the additional rendered objects and more. The PS4 is 11 years old and it was budget range PC equivalent when it first came out too, so it's very outdated and holding the game back. This may be why the interior housing size expansion may be pushed to 8.0 since they haven't given a release schedule for it unlike the furnishing limit expansion coming in 7.2 or 7.3.
