"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
Alright then buddy. Then please explain why most of those negative reviews I've read come from extremely bigoted people complaining about woke/DEI.
Did people seriously think the current "main character" of the expansion... Wouldn't be in said expansion's patch quests? Is there any reason why Wuk Lamat wouldn't be present to figure out the mystery of her own currently underdeveloped brother and his child? I would much rather them give her a slightly more natural character benching than scrap her entirely, and the former doesn't leave me with a sense of dread knowing that the entirely of future expansions could just be rewritten by fans no matter how bad the decisions could be in hindsight. Just give me less "Speak to Wuk Lamat"s so she can be benched in peace and we all can finally just move on from her.
Considering the fate of other "future leaders of the expansion spotlight", I'm sure this is going to be the case by the end of the patch msq, she'll be shelved until they can find a way to shoehorn back in for the moment if the situation calls for it, and take her right back out. I can't imagine her staying for the entirely of this next saga, it's like if Lyse stuck around for ShB when she had no business being there.
There's a stark difference with that. Now I'm not going to act like I knew about the G'raha being added into the Scions due to fan feedback. Which I assume was in ARR. But people are clamoring and protesting for her death in the patch quests. Which isn't going to happen because of the story already being laid out. God I shutter what these children were saying about Lyse during Stormblood.Anyone who disagrees with you is a child? Should we not get a say in how the game's story progresses despite paying a subscription for it?
Or is it only good to listen to feedback when it's feedback you personally like? I'd love to see some of the people saying they shouldn't change based on feedback back in 5.3 when they added Graha Tia to the scions based on player feedback. Was that a mistake to listen to "children" saying they wanted something different?
MMOs that involve asset/strength build-up or otherwise player-empire building games, can be compared to going to work. The following is obviously not an exclusive paradigm covering everyone, but this is the overwhelming scenario:
If a decent person works somewhere 'bad' but work with good people, they can survive that workplace a long time and depending on the role, sometimes even go the extra kilometre doing extra little things that carry the company or operation a bit. Even if some amenities conditions aren't great, and the pay is a little less than it should be, they will stick around. Especially if there is reason to believe conditions will improve (proof in actions).
If a decent person works somewhere 'good', but the people they have to work with are bad/awful, they will leave. A free snack and coffee machine and a bit extra pay/other perks will not keep them.
Guess which scenario Dawntrail is, but now with the added bonus of the game deteriorating too and no reason to believe even recent mistakes will be corrected (Plunge, Spineshatter Dive, Monk interference, and of course- Summoner, among things).
I don't agree with that person at all, but considering G'raha did absolutely nothing of on-screen importance this expansion besides give us a nice talk on a boat for 5 minutes, making him join the scions based purely off of player feedback *was not* the best idea, actually. At this point, it seems like they have no idea what to do with him anymore besides small cameos for fanservice, because they had nothing else planned for him besides throwing him in the main cast just to make a few people happy.Anyone who disagrees with you is a child? In this case, I'd rather them follow through while making some small tweaks to make Wuk less of an issue than have it all scrapped entirely, or else the writers are just going to be mindboggled and stuck on what to do with each and every character going forward, possibly ruining the experience of people that love or hate whatever character in every single future expansion.
Nope Graha was made a scion after his popularity in the 5.0 msq. He was never meant to be a main part of the group or even be reawakened on the source. They completely changed his arc post 6.0 after seeing how popular he became. So it can be done if they really really want to.
Okay but in all seriousness why are people being referred to as ‘children’ because they have genuine concerns and criticisms toward the game’s direction regarding Wuk?
Because they've been in an echo chamber all their lives (reddit) and can't understand why someone would criticize something
