7.1 - More Wuk Lamat

For the poeople saying that up to 7.3 is locked in, Yoshi-P had an interview this month at PAX Australia where he seems to be saying the opposite.



Seems like they have decided that the players who dislike Wuk Lamat are wrong and only don't like her because she wasn't given proper development, so they intend to angle 7.1 and onward to correct that by having more of her.

For me it reads more like that the patches will still have Wuk Lamat in them like planned beforehand. He is now trying to sell it as something “good” or tries to spin some kind of reason for that instead of saying what it actually is.

Maybe I am naive in that regard or completely wrong but I don’t read out of it that they changed anything in the 7.1 story or my English is just not good enough to pick up a specific wording.

I agree though that his answers are as tone deaf as always and are a huge pile of poop on all the feedback.

I don’t know. I just want to think positive for the moment and give them the benefit of the doubt. If I give up here and now I don’t know if I will ever return.
If the story stays abysmal in the future or that furry gets even more center stage after 7.3 then I will leave this game but until then I wait and give them a chance.

But again, we’re going to be reflecting that learning into [content patch 7.1] and onward, we’re hoping that we can show more of what makes Wuk Lamat so great, and I’m hoping that we can regain from there.

This is very much the typical Yoshi "Don't retire from our game please" PR reply from every interview since DT launch that I have come to expect.

I couldn't agree more. There are tone deaf responses then there are real tone deaf responses. Yoshi's statements fall in the latter.

I can't believe this is the same guy who saved Final Fantasy XIV back in the day. Yoshi has gone from being a visionary game maker to becoming yet another corporate-speak spouting suit who ignores all feedback except from his circle of yes men.

He lost his soul and the game is now in a slow death spiral of mediocrity. A real leader would have listened to his paying customers, looked for common themes among the legitimitate feedback, and made necessary changes regardless of whether or not things were already completed.

I used to own a restaurant and when my customers were dissatisfied with a something, I'd address it. Because that's what a successful businessman does. I didn't dig in my heels and start gaslighting my customers like they didn't know what they were talking about. That would have been madness.

Yet, Yoshi P is doing exactly that. It's time to clean house, Square Enix. Either act now or lose your big money maker.
