Complaints of the outfit being too "modern" ring completely hollow to me when this is Final Fantasy, the biggest "anything goes" JRPG series in the planet, if this was a Dragon Quest game, I'd find myself agreeing, but those complaints really feel like people are trying to act like Final Fantasy is a sword-and-sorcery series when it never was, not even back in FF1.

If we talk about the OG dragon quest games yes , but if we talk about the censored remakes and how they censored maya and meenas outfits in the dark prince (the monster joker game) when they were on screen for not even 30 seconds. I argue modern dragon quest is just ufff

Lot of missed opportunities with the event. The outfit is pretty modern-looking and not too "Halloweeny" at a glance, so the writing should have carried a lot of the theme and tied it back into the event. Unfortunately it felt shallow and shoehorned in. I like the potential of the characters but they don't get utilized well.

Though I'm not too into the game's modern outfits myself, there's no doubt the outfit came with some fun pieces to play with. The shirt's 2 channels are great-- now you can be the postmoogle, police officer, customer service rep, airline pilot, or TSA agent of your dreams! When people try to enter your local ERP concubine clubs carrying more than 3.4oz of liquids, you can toss them out with the proper, aesthetic authority!

Joking aside the Event was just like others that came before Short and just normal in FF xiv standard the glam is fine using some of the pieces.

These are not wondrous pieces sci-fi imagination like Final Fantasy XIII, and etc all the others.
These are maybe just about what the 'followers' of fashion in Akihabra might wear.
They are just trendy modern clothes that mail order retailers might copy off the catwalks.
It's what people would love to make look good IRL if they they didn't have the body shape even a Concord character designer couldn't love, and hadn't spent their last $ on Genshin Gatcha.
(I include myself in that, so I'm allowed to say it. I'd love to strip off the waist, break with convention as look as good as my chiseled Miquo did in a fabulous skirt/dress. I wouldn't wan't to see the real me in a mirror looking like that. /cringe . It just doesn't 'work')

- The haunted manor 4 player instance with multiple minigames and prizes
- The tam-tara 4 player instance with multiple minigames and prizes
- The haunted manor to simply explore, dressup and take photos in
- The creation of the sneaky hollow where you could explore, dressup and take photos in

What do we get this time? Nothing, that 2 minute escort quest is literally just nothing

I think this mix and match of old and modern setting is why fell out of love with the FF series.

There is no consistency in themes. You can have medieval fantasy, fantasy punk, steam punk and full blown sci-fi in one game and I just noped out after FF12.
