Feedback: please remove glamour restrictions from Crafter and Gatherers gear!

Hello,

We've had so many expansions getting crafter and gatherer that looks absolutely incredible (especially the specific sets for each crafters) but which never sees the light of day, since the crafted general purpose sets are always better and nobody has the glamour plates to spare for each individual crafter.

Many of these sets would look amazing for combat jobs (imagine Dawntrail's blacksmith chestpiece as a monk glamour, or any of the weaver coats on red mage) without compromising the "final fantasy feel" of the classes.

It's somewhat galling being continually told that we cannot have this done as the jobs need to have a "certain look" preserved and yet we get a new all-classes animal mascot suit every expansion.

This feeling is exacerbated by the knowledge that the other server regions (China and Korea) apparently have level 1 all-classes versions of these very sets available!

Please reconsider the glamour limitations on these pieces - it would open up so many glamour opportunities, give people a reason to farm for (and sometimes even craft) these sets, and also not compromise the Integrity of job appearance any more than other glamours already have. These sets are languishing as it is currently and feel like a huge wasted opportunity considering the work that must have gone into them.

Totally agree. I don't think all glamour should be unlocked, but all the crafting and gathering sets definitely should be. The devs put so much work into making these amazing sets that nobody ever uses because they're locked to their jobs. They're all along the lines of the casual sets that are already universal so I don't see why they couldn't be unlocked.

This would be one thing, but the issue with that is they aren't even selling us the solution!

If i remember right, the chinese and korean servers have separate people who make items wanted/expected/desired by their specific player bases. And when demand is high enough, they sometimes make their way to the "normal" servers.

And on our servers, they're still job-locked even there!

Co-signed. At least for previous expansions' gear, or make a separate "costume" version that's open to all classes (unlike the Firmament costume coffer items that are still specific DoL/DoH class-locked... why do they exist!?!) that's buyable with some currency if there's some concern about them becoming too commonplace, or... I don't even know. The class glamour restrictions on gear other than the combat job artifact gear are very silly in Althyk's Year 2024, but the specific DoL/DoH gear locking is especially silly.

The company that pays SE for rights to run the game in Korea as well as manage their distinctly different cash shop may have well done so. Since we can't connect to Korean servers without actually being Korean, we may never see those items, as they are not built into non-region-locked FFXIV, nor designed specifically by Square Enix.

On the other hand, one can get glam unlocked gatherer and crafting gear from the Firmament via special scrips that take a bit of funding [for materials] and/or time to obtain. Leather pants and a white tank top w/arm tattoo are a possibility, as well as the rest of the left-side for glamour. Expect it to total around 20,000 scrips to obtain.

Also, please remove the restrictions on old accessories so that Crafters and Gatherers can wear them. For example, The Augmented/Primal Earrings of XXXXX that you buy for tomes in Idyllshire can be worn by all classes- so it stands to reason to open up all the other old accessories- perhaps everything level 80 and lower? The level 50 Platinum accessories and Coils of Bahamut accessories definitely should be front of the queue among others, if they have to be done in small batches.
