Okay so I know the cash shop is dark and shadowy place that you must never go to, but why is recommended to buy a skip throughout the entire game msq. They just released a (sorta) predatory NEW PLAYER ADVENTURE PACK!!!111 and of course they're gonna see "recommended" and think. OH I should buy this too, It's recommended!"

I think square should remove the recommended status from any item that is skipping out core gameplay. I also just think this is a really bad look. Bringing new players into the game recommending they skip all the learning experience of the game as well as the majority of the game burdens both new and existing players

its criminal that there are story skips in a cash shop in first place.

Oh this is an easy one. If your new and skip the the old MSQ, then you can get right into DT MSQ and you won't be able to compare it to the previous MSQs. Thus you won't have a frame of reference for why it's so horrible.

That actually...makes sense. SE doesn't want the new players to know how good MSQ used to be and how far it's fallen, lmao.

My guess is it's recommended so that they don't purchase the previous ones. Some people only want to skip up to a certain expansion, but in most cases if someone is skipping they are skipping the whole thing up to Dawntrail.

The other reason it's probably recommended is because it's their #4 best seller and what a lot of shoppers are probably looking for.

The book finishes MSQ up to the quest "The Coming Dawn", which was the last quest of 6.55... So it doesn't take you to the endgame, just to the start of DT... It's the same as all the other story skips.

But at the same time, you'd be jumping into what most people accept to be the worst part of the MSQ...

and honestly as much as we can tout "This game has such an amazing story (for the most part), it still doesn't really change the fact that content is locked behind the story, and that said story is 300+ hours long.

Anyone coming into this game as a new player, what do they realistically have? Palace of the Dead, and oh, Eureka after a good 150 hours.

Not everyone cares about the story, and factoring in the length of the story, and every piece of content being locked behind it, it's hardly a surprised.

Now granted, I would rather they stop locking content behind story, but this isn't exactly a surprise.

I wish SE would already sell a full Dawntrail MSQ Skip, even with all future Dawntrail Patches. I am sure there will be nothing good in this MSQ till 8.0, so not a big loss to skip all.

"Recommended" just means "We've sold a lot of this recently". Skips are very popular with RMTers who don't care about playing the game and just want to get to whatever's selling now so they can put their bots to work (and also have one max-level combat job to troll the forums with).
