    Though they had it in the pdfs that they were planning massive PvE content. I hope they include an open world / giant field / braveheart speech / rushing head on against hordes of monsters type event. The closest to that I've seen so far is the little garlean invasion events that randomly pop up. Those are so damn fun x-x.

    I said it before Rokien games not for you.

    I have to admit I am a little disappointed that its not large scale like campaign but like others have said the limitation of the current graphics engine is forcing this to go instanced.

    It still look pretty awesome, so don't get stuck on the details and have some fun.

    Yeah, I must say I'm a bit disappointed that every new piece of content that hits is of the instanced variety. I can understand that perhaps they're extremely limited to what they can do with the current engine, or that they don't want to put to much work into anything non-2.0, but if the focus remains on instanced content at that point, then I think most of my interest with this game will be lost

    As I've said before, there's nothing wrong with instanced content, but a balance needs to be formed. Open world design offers a completely different feel from instanced design, allowing for a more community focused, immersive, and adventurous feel. Instanced content is great for allowing the server to do things perhaps not possibly otherwise, and allowing a sort of faster method to reach said content (content finder), but it gets dull if that's ALL there is. Like I said, I hope they really reach a balance when 2.0 hits

    Having a beast tribe attacking 1 location for whole day would cause massive lag. I know FFXIV doesn't have the biggest population but it would still lag like a b*tch. The graphic beauty of this game comes with a price. Wow can have open world raids because any computer can run wow toons, and enviroments. I had to build my computer to play 14, due to the high graphics demand

    For most it isn't a graphical issue, but network latency. It's all 0's and 1's flyin through a command-line server, it isn't that friggin difficult.

    I'd like to respond to this with a rebuttal that is often used against myself

    "This is not FFXI"

    Just because there were issues with this type of content in 2002, doesn't mean that those ideas and concepts can't be improved upon in 2012. It seems whenever anyone negatively compares XI to XIV, they mention time sinks and game limitation, as opposed to the types of content XI provided. Just because they had issues before, doesn't mean similar types of content can't be implemented with improvements

    Fun yes, Annoying as hell because you could see crap.. Bigger Yes!.. Large Scale content is only good.. if you can see everything around you.. or else whats the point? Instanced for Large Scale content I agree on ( unless 2.0 engine allows for 100+ players to be visible) then yes go Non-Instanced.

    Don't get me wrong I love Campaign and Besieged.. but not knowing where anything was= Started to lose gradually play that content.

    I played FFXI, I play FFXIV, they are both made by the same company. My comments are based on what I have experienced so far. I hope they can improve, but I have nothing to base my hope on. I think we are getting instances because they know they can't do massive player content until the new server.
