I mean the problem I see right now is that they say that they need 2 weeks for fine tuning and polishing but let’s be honest here, I don’t see how the last patches were polished with how many bugs we had. Or how rushed Dawntrail feels (feels like they had to rewrite a massive amount of story in a short amount with how all over the place it was and how we got a black hole sue out of it). Or also a bad case about polishing I remember was top being a complete bug infested fight without any kind of testing. Buff cap, p3 start autoing a healer cause aggro reset when you couldn’t even target the boss, or P5 giving magic vuln and female attacking before it expired and one shooting tank if he had a pattern were he got hit last with a magic vuln debuff.

It’s the deployment creep that is upsetting people, the veterans know where this is going.

3 months then 3.5, 4, 4.5, and then perhaps 5 or 6, a year? When does it stop? It sounds small but it all adds up.

That will mean it’s 9 months between savage cycles, that’s nearly a year.

Sounds like there are some growing internal problems in CS3 and XIV is suffering because of it.

When I thought they were delaying patches to provide the team a couple more weeks of time to polish things up, I was all for it.

But enough time has passed to show me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that is not what they are doing at all.

Why are patches taking longer and longer? Simple. Because there's less staff. They'll never come out at say that, but it's the most logical explanation. Either staff as been laid off or moved to work on other projects or both. So FFXIV throughout Endwalker was giving us less content over a longer time span. The delay of 5.3 when Covid hit the world was understandable. But it's like they took that goodwill for that one moment in time and then went "oh, we can just take longer and give them less and it'll be fine."

I don't doubt you - I think it would be interesting to find a way to compare the amount of staff from ShB, EW and now. Idk if that's listed somewhere.
