The sad truth is if SE would've had any quality control in place when it comes to the english voiceacting in Dawntrail overall (not just for Wuk Lamat) this would've never happened in the first place.

I would really love to know who at SE listened to the english voice acting for this expansion and thought "Yeah, that's it!". It's insane that they just greenlit Y'shtolas or Wuk Lamats performance just like that. Feels like they were in a hurry to push the expansion out and didn't care about quality this time.

Tbh, some side chars sound absolutely awful (esp in Shaaloani)...I'm shocked honestly, almost everyone sounds pretty bad and I'm not really knowledgable about what goes on in the uhm...voice directing? The first, new voice acting we hear in DT kinda sets the pace for all the rest to follow. That sailor is so mismatched between voice and figure that it kinda brought me out of the experience for a good while.

The community should stand in solidarity with Sena Bryer and petition Square Enix to make a public statement denouncing transphobia and standing with Sena then. Just saying "don't attack certain employees" isn't enough. It's important to call out transphobia by its name: transphobia.

Yes I will agree: Death threats and harassment are not good things to send people and it should not be controversial to have someone go "Please don't do those things". However, people do have a right to complain about some of the things Sena has tweeted, as long as it's actually constructive. Sena HAS said things that people don't like or find issues with, like her tweet about Bridget's VA, or her tweet about the song Smile and implying racism, or her tweet throwing subtle shade at other VA's not participating in the SAG-AFTRA strike.

YOU might see the tweets Sena has made as not bad or not an issue, but others WILL find issues with them, and as long as their concerns are actually constructive and not just "I'm going to find every possible angle to hate Sena on because I think trans people are abominations and should be treated as such as vocally as possible" then they should be allowed to call her out on her tweets and criticize them, especially if said tweets are going to happen for the next two years of Dawntrail. I myself have criticized Sena's performance and tweets, that doesn't automatically mean I "self-reported" myself or are some transphobe in denial or a bigot simply because I said something that you personally didn't agree with.

Sena voicing Wuk Lamat means she is basically the main face of FF14's Dawntrail for the English speaking side, so people are going to be more critical of her tweets and in-game voice performance and whatnot going forward, and she needs to take that into account and keep things as professional as she can.

In the event she did show the receipts, there's a good chance you'd call them staged. Also if you're gonna claim you're being unfairly accused of transphobia, using "his" for the actress doesn't exactly help your case.

The problem is that the two issues got mixed up when some people hid behind the excuse of poor dubbing to hide their pure reactionism.

I followed from a distance (I'm not concerned by this dubbing), but God, some of them were hypocrites. Anyway, let's be honest: there were some bad dubbers in this game. None of them elicited such a strong reaction.

And then, at worst, assume that if you don't fall into the category of the crazies who threaten death, don't make a distinction between personal and professional life, and all that... Just assume that you're not concerned, and basta?

I do not want to discuss the trans thing here, i can see both sides tbh. I understand that not every human can / will accept that and i understand people have no problems with. For me as i mentioned before i don´t care which gender, sexuality or toilet paper someone is using. Everyone have the same right period. With the same rights you accept people treat you the same way as normally and well people will out call someone with a terrible attitude and personality. So for the topic.
I don´t have the screenshot anymore but wasn't there a tweet where she was saying she get death threats while quoting someone criticizing her constructively? I don´t deny she´s getting some because you know its the internet. Death threats are never okay, even if most people which are acting in public will get some someday. Geez even i got enough and i am just consumer. Here´s the thing it sounds more powerful to get death threats as cry about being criticized. Its even more powerful PR to stand behind such a person to act like "uuuh i am such a good guy i support my members and protect them from death threats" . That´s it PR talk nothing else. What mister PR doesn´t understand or don´t want to see is people are on this topics for Months now. There is no hiding behind death threats anymore. This forum have tons of screenshots flying around pointing them with the face into them, they can not tell me they don´t know.

So people been waiting for a good statement and got stop attacking her... great job people will attack her even harder. Just attack her is not helpful because this will erase the actual critique. My last point i kinda am curious how it looks behind all of this. Like are they talking to her or Kate ? Does the CEO knows about it ? Is it really planned ? SE or Yoshi could end this thing so ez without even firing her. Teach her that´s not the way how this works stop it and then give us this exact statement. If this not happens SE or more CBU3 stands fully behind of thinking a big percentage of their community is hating people because they are what they are.
