I've had interesting people in Ultimate Weapon. For the most part it's just hitting a target dummy and dodging really simple telegraphs so people goof off to make up for the fact that it's boring and I'm all for that. I had a red mage call me out for using LB3 on Ultimate Weapon as a Bard. He's like "just so you know, ranged limit break blah blah blah blah blah" and it's like "oh noooo, we're gonna finish ULTIMATE WEAPON 0.4s slower."

Like no duh Ranged LB sucks on single targets. But it's Ultimate Weapon mate, I think we can have a little fun.

I just got the level 95 dungeon as sage, the others were a warrior, monk, and a bard. It's the warrior's first time in this dungeon, and things went somewhat slow, with the warrior not really using bloodwhetting that much (or mitigating at all). The real spicy part is on the last boss, the warrior got knocked off and I had to cleanup, but the warrior -never- used provoke to take back aggro, or activate their tank stance. The monk was spamming provoke in chat, but aggro eventually cycled through both dps till they died, and the aggro was on me.

And for the rest of the fight I was just tanking eeeeverything. I survived tankbusters with only a sliver of health after mitigating and shielding myself, and the tank just never used provoke ever. It's funny since recently in this forum I said that healers should get invulns to encroach on tank identity, and this situation is one where an invuln would've made my life easier, or at least an ability that forces the boss to target a tank.

You can use Sleep (caster) or Repose (healer) to interrupt its big aoe. It'll only work on three aoes before the resistance builds up. but if you have the entire party single target focus it, it will die in time before the fourth aoe.

Something tells me it's unintentional and I'll be sad if it ever gets changed.

I'm aware that sleep can interrupt it. I'm just annoyed that it genuinely seems to be better, and cleaner to single pull the two cyclops mobs before moving on to the turtle. The trash pacing in that dungeon is super off.

Got M1N in Normal Raid roulette. Person being targeted by Elevate and Eviscerate targeted the tile the entire rest of the raid was standing on, sending us all plummeting to our deaths.

I finished DT 8 man raid a few weeks back and must have given a few players a laugh...I got raised stepped forward and my years of experience went out the window as I stepped forward and fell down a hole in the floor I felt ashamed but I did record it to look back on lol...the shame.

i don't even believe that he was parsing that fight, WHO would parse Ultimate Weapon normal? He pulled those numbers out of thin air afaik. And still the fact stands that if you fail Ultimate Weapon Normal with the Healer even doing 0% your group as a whole, DPS included, was just bad.

I actually did not pull those numbers out of thin air, I ended up turning on the thing because I was wondering why on earth I was seeing repeating mechanics on the first part, which is not normal, and at first I thought it was my DRK doing DRK damage or one of the dps doing the Netflix and Chill shtick. Seeing repeating mechanics because someone wasn't contributing to the dps pool is typically the cause, as I'm sure you've seen before in your runs in high level dungeons. Seeing repeating mechanics makes for more mistakes, vuln stacks collected, and raises the potential for a wipe to occur.

When I start seeing repeating mechanics, you know I'll raise an eyebrow unless people are new and constantly dying to stupid. While I did not even need the forbidden calculator to realize something fishy was going on, I wanted to double check and make sure I wasn't missing something important and suggest something to the dps to help improve their dps.

I will point this out, do not underestimate healer dps and how much it can actually contribute. The fact still stands that my party was forced to carry someone who did not contribute to the dps pool. Saying a healer can do 0% dps and still clear Ultima weapon normal means the rest of the party has to work even harder to make up for the missing damage.

Yes, as a player who mostly plays whm and levels and learns the other jobs to know their ins and outs, you bet your buckaroos I will absolutely notice when something is taking far longer to die, whether it be from the dungeon timer, hp bars remaining in packs, or having to look at the thing and make sure I'm not going crazy for some reason.

If you had a healer that did that in your Ultima weapon group and you were in my boots, I'd safely say that you'd feel the frustration I felt at having to work harder to clear a fight.

Yes there is. Do the run as a DPS job with a Trust, walk into the room, as soon as Thancred jumps in to aggro the tortoise, walk back outside the room and go make tea, come back when your Trust party has killed it without you.
