That is a possibility. The only thing I have that's a low enough level for that would be Red Mage which is still 52, but I'm not sure it'll matter at that point. I'll also make sure to take a screen shot as well if any of those drop.I have been trying to get the Peregrine Helm, Onion Doublet, Onion Gaskins, and Onion Pattens since version 1.0. I did the original levequests that dropped some of these items a bunch of times before 1.0 ended. But they never dropped for me. Then I kept sending my retainer to quick ventures as much (whenever I was subbed) as I could over the years. I remember getting a couple item level 52 items that are unique to quick ventures (Explorer/Veteran gear), but that was a few expansions ago. I see a lot of Red Onion helmets on the market board right now, but none of the item level 52 gears. Perhaps other players simply turn them into seals instead of selling them on the market board? Or maybe they no longer drop. Some guy put a youtube short about a year ago showing he got a Red Onion Helm: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/I0ZSgL0-OHY
Recently I re-classed my two retainers to max level 10 Rogue in order to reduce the size of the drop pool. They have brought me back a lot of green icon gear up to level 90 (ilvl 15+, 30+, 40+, etc..), furniture, crafting materials, level 1 glamour gear, and fish. I don't know if leveling them to level 30 will increase my chances for the peregrine helm since I am already getting ilvl 30ish gear. My suspicions are that the drop pool is the same until level 50, at which point level 130 gear should start dropping.
If I ever do get any of these rare items, I will definitely take a screenshot.
Ok sorry for the way I'm gonna have to show these, wasn't really paying attention, but I got them. Onion Gaskins!
Now this may not seem important, but it is at least proof that the Onion Gear (such as the Peregrine Helm) are still in Quick Venture Rotation!
Message of me getting them:

I'd be excited to see an Onion Knight Limited Job return to the game, or something that operates similar to it. It's be an incredibly versatile Job.
Funny thing about that. We actually have 2, technically 3, Onion Knight sets in the game already.
The first set is from 1.0, which with this confirms you can get all but the helmet from Quick Ventures, the Helmet you can only get if you bought the Collector's Edition of 1.0. It is for all classes.
The second set is from Labyrinth of the Ancients and it was Drg only, but has been updated to allow Rpr to wear it now as well.
The technical third set is from pvp and it's a dyable recolor of the second the set.
There is also the Explorer's Set from 1.0, which contains the Red Onion Helm, much of this set is Tanks only, but those Gaskins also confirm that those items are still in Quick Venture Rotation.
I do agree I would love to see it as a Limited Job, but it's really hard to say how they could approach it in this game.

Can't wear, don't care.
But being serious here. I HAVE one of these but cant wear it :V so i'm all down to see more access for this neat helm

I want them to make it a weird gimmick job in terms of how you level it by making it like FFT WotL onion knight where it's levels are based on the levels of all your other jobs. So you don't level it directly.Funny thing about that. We actually have 2, technically 3, Onion Knight sets in the game already.

Lots of people already start leveling all the jobs so I think it would fit in nicely with that. But I could see people being upset about having to level jobs they don't like to level the funny limited job.
As for what makes it special? Wearing any combination of any gear in the game would be a great start, the ultimate glam job I suppose.
Otherwise I'd like to build a deck of actions like BLU but made up of the actions I've currently learned from all other jobs I've been playing.
Onion Knights ARE supposed to become overpowered after all.
Edit; lol so what I'm saying is 2.0 cross classing: the job

it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.

My kingdom for a Peregrine Helm

Not quite the Peregrine Helm, but I did just get the Onion Doublet.

It's exciting to see that these are still dropping from quick ventures.
I have over 500 quick ventures as a level 10 Rogue item level 1.
Unfortunately, all I ever got was item level 90 and below gear excluding any item level 52 gear, Peregrine Helm, or the Onion armor pieces. I also got a ton of furniture and crafting materials. I'm wondering if I should level to level 49 or 50.
Please share with us your retainer setup (Job, Level, Item Level) for when you got your Onion Armor piece.

My doublet was obtained by a Miner retainer in the early level 90s (I don't remember their exact level, I wasn't expecting to have a decent shot at any uniques as I was using Quick Ventures to level them to 100)It's exciting to see that these are still dropping from quick ventures.

They were wearing Indagator gear except for no accesories (blank slots there), which put them at item level 361.
