Greenlight NA and EU Travel

The C64 and Amiga 500 are ancient home computers.

I feel ancient now, I think we might still have one or two of those buried somewhere in the house.

As well as opening up EU and NA I think it would be great to open up OCE properly as well so people can actually visit other regions for content that isn't well populated on OCE.

I'm not a raider so I can't comment on the current problems with Aether, but I'd like them to implement EU-to-NA travel at the very least because (as someone mentioned earlier) I'm one of those who plays with 150ms~ ping on NA and I'd love to have the option to visit EU.
Of course it's mostly to experience better ping in duty, but i'd also like to see what it's like to be around EU players for a change. It's kind of weird being European and being around American culture so much.

I have this sentiment too. I'm not from EU but people in my region tend to play in EU by default because that's the lowest ping for us. Of course there're people here who play in NA also, but majority go EU, so would be nice if could meet more of them also.

Right now it's a crapshoot if Aether/Primal/Crystal players can visit any of those DCs. The only one consistently open to us is Dynamis. You don't think having EU people also trying to come over here isn't going to make that situation worse? We need our own house cleaned up first before they add to the problem.

There's gonna be way more people coming to NA from EU than NA going to EU just because people seem to travel primarily for content which is always going to be faster on NA than EU, as well as raiding purposes. I'd be curious if Chaos dies completely since Light was already drawing a population away but now Aether is on the table and has a morning raiding secene that would be there for EU players to flood. Might send Chaos into the dark ages of old and create a 2nd Dynamis.

Unlike NA x JP or EU x JP, I dont think NA x EU would have a huge culture clash
Plus I myself am a EU player staying on NA due to living in NA when I starteed the game, would love to play with low ping again

Lets just rip a bandaid off here, plenty of EU players play on NA and plenty of NA players play on EU, theres a myth that theres as big of a cultural divide between the two like there exists with the Japanese DCs when thats simply not true.

For god sake in the world races i know plenty of EU statics with NA players in them and the same goes for NA statics with EU players in them, the game is perfectly adjustable up to around 150-160ping for most jobs

Balmung in NA is full of EU RPers, outside of the PF difference, the culture is not that different.

I'm all for it , for the sheer fact that there exists little cultural difference outside of PF strats.

And no harm to EU players, but a good deal of UK and Irish players that i know of mainly play on NA anyway.

EU player playing on Balmung here! I would love the option to go do roulettes or whatever on EU for the lower latency. Still prefer to stay on NA but the option to do content on EU would be great.

While we do have a morning raid scene it's still sometimes difficult to get a group going. It fills evantually, but it takes longer than it would on peak times. This is especially true if you want to pf ultimates. If I try to put a party up, I would be lucky if it even fills. For things like Savage; and correct me if I'm wrong to be honest because I didn't pf this tier, but I'd imagine even now it'd take a bit longer to fill in comparison if someone was on EU. People who raid in morning will probably have better ping on EU anyways or JP if they're from SEA.

I honestly cannot say what will happen but I won't be surprised if the morning raiding scene in NA goes to EU to raid. Most EU people on NA are here for their friends and already established themselves here. Of course NA will end up having a morning raid scene cause people can't leave in the first place.

I don't understand why people think that EU is going to go to NA to raid. When you're used to less than 100ms ping, anything with 150ms ping is a nightmare. If anything, EU folks on NA will go to EU to raid.

I play on 250ms ping, and if I could convince my static to meet on OCE where I have 188ms ping, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But they don't want to play on 150ms ping lol.

I agree, considering how much my EU friends complain about the ping when they're playing on NA, it will likely have all the EU people moving to EU to raid or do content.
